Job Description

Mtn Dew is seeking a dynamic, highly collaborative and creative marketer with a passion for marketing communications and gaming/esports. The ideal candidate will have experience in traditional and digital/social advertising, creative development, PR, media planning and experiential activation combined with a deep knowledge of the gaming/esports industry and how to build brands within that ecosystem.

This role is a part of the Mtn Dew Marketing Communications team, which is focused on building brand equity, product awareness, and consumer demand for Mtn Dew products. As part of this team, the role is responsible for the development and execution of brand marketing campaigns and consumer engagement platforms related to gaming, primarily focused on the brand's energy portfolio of products (Mtn Dew Amp and Mtn Dew Amp Game Fuel). This role affords a unique opportunity to lead ground-up development of 360-degree communication plans for Mtn Dew AMP, which will relaunch in 2020 as a key priority for PepsiCo Beverages North America (Mtn Dew's parent company). Success in this role represents itself through effective campaign launches, increased brand awareness, improved equity, brand relevance within gaming, and strengthened consumer pull.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and execution of the gaming strategy for the Mtn Dew Trademark

  • Develop and evolve brand positioning and communications strategy with a focus on Mtn Dew Amp and Mtn Dew Amp Game Fuel

  • Bring positioning to life by developing and executing 360 campaign strategy through relevant communications as well as earned and paid media channels

  • Develop consumer engagement plans to bring the Mtn Dew AMP / Mtn Dew Amp Game Fuel to life via the esports and gaming pillars

  • Lead strategy, planning and execution for gaming related partnerships and programming

  • Build and manage relationships with key agency partners that will be responsible for creative development and execution

  • Develop relationships with internal cross functional teams that can provide support and expertise in specific areas, including: data/analytics, media, PR, sports, legal, finance, consumer relations, etc.

  • Manage program A&M spend and ensure programs deliver key metrics and are on budget

  • Partner with Mtn Dew brand counterparts to ensure cohesive brand plans, flawless in-store execution, and strong plans for 2020 and beyond

  • Lead a team of 2 (Marketing Manager and Associate Analyst)

Qualifications/Requirements

Requirements:

  • BA required, MBA preferred
  • 8-10 years of marketing experience in relevant fields (brand, agency, game publisher, esports organization)
  • Comms experience (i.e.; campaign development/management, media strategy/planning, public relations)
  • Gaming/esports industry knowledge and interest required. Related work experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading and collaborating within cross-discipline teams and agency partners

  • Experience managing advertising campaigns from briefing through production and in-market execution

  • History of working closely with agency partners to develop and refine macro creative territories

  • Strategic mind with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and influence multiple decision makers

  • Highly analytical, motivated, decisive leader with excellent managerial skills.
