Support development and editing of content of the multi-business and multi-channel marketing programs in the Residential and Landscape Contract division.
Focus is on consumer benefit messaging, content curation and editing applied to the consumer path to purchase funnel.
Major duties include crafting customer-focused messages that are concise, consistent, infused with SEO and keywords, consumer friendly and adhere to the content strategy.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work collaboratively to develop compelling content that supports a unique and differentiated brand experience for multiple brands and categoriestell the Toro stories. Understand how strategy translates into concept and execution that is on target for our stakeholders and helps drive key initiatives and marketing objectives.
Maximize search impact of all content.
Influence and improve all phases of the consumer journeys from traffic generation to on-site journeys and experiences, and post-visit consumer engagement.
Assist in creation of content standards by channel for each major product line, management of content messaging for marketing communications materials, and establishing and implementing best practices for content management as well as structure process for efficiency.
Function as an editor and writing coach to conceptualize and develop content for the customer segment, ensuring the ongoing consistency, quality and aligned with the content strategy of assigned projects.
Coordinate workflow to maintain content creation volume and consistency through a content calendar and keeping content creators on schedule.
Support the marketing department's overall process, project management improvement efforts and development of the annual marketing communications plans.
Manage select projects from concept to completion.
Manage and grow our freelance contributors, including writers, illustrators, photographers, and videographers.
Lead development and execution of new content initiatives, finding topics to fit within content calendar.
Refine content success metrics and collaborate with team on audience growth strategy.
All other tasks and projects as assigned.
Work with content and creative design teams to develop integrated strategies that increase e-commerce and in-store opportunities.
Assist in communications with sales, marketing, marketing research, marcom and channel teams.
Serve as key internal and external marcom contact for consistent message, content workflow and the content calendar.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, English or Communications.
Eight (8) years' experience in media/publishing.
Three (3) years' experience as an editor.
Experience managing content operations, including oversight of content calendar, budgeting, and metrics/audience growth.
Ability to write for multiple media, including advertising, brochures/collateral, and customer newsletters conveyed in print and digital formats.
Ability to translate product-based technical information into crisp, compelling marketing messages for both trade and consumer audiences.
Detail oriented, organized, strong work ethic to meet deadlines.
Able to view work objectivly and provide constructive feedback.
Strong background in and understanding of creative industries, particularly design.
Detailed eye for visual presentation of published content.
Entrepreneurial and resourceful approach to work.
Background in service journalism/educational content.
Experience with event curation/production.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter, with an ability to work independently.
Proven computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint at minimum. Must have advanced knowledge of Excel.
Knowledgeable with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Demonstrated success in defining and launching successful products or campaigns.
Excellent presentation skills and client/customer interaction.
Understanding of digital marketing and application of content marketing.
PR and Communications experience a plus.
Merchandising experience a plus.
Journalist or storyteller experience a plus.
Ability to work on matrix organization with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
