As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. Our mission is three-fold: delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medicine through research, and training the next generation of health professionals.

The Marketing Communications Specialist ensures executional excellence for assigned Marketing plans and projects. Invaluable partner to assigned marketing managers. Accountable for the execution of marketing initiatives for designated business areas. Primary responsibilities include: project management, collateral development and execution, events and budget tracking/invoice management. Collaborates with creative and digital teams, corporate communications and variety of others across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, project management or related area or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities

  • 2 years of experience in marketing or advertising organization or department

  • Broad knowledge and experience in marketing, communications and brand standards.

  • Project/traffic management

  • Event planning and coordination.

  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency.

  • Strong service orientation, Collaborative team player who can work independently and take initiative, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, strong communication skills, solution-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in healthcare or other service industry

  • Experience working with self-service collateral creation tools

  • Proofreading

  • Project management certification

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: * Must be enrolled in an accredited University/College program, preferably within Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related areas of study. * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Self-directed and able to work without supervision. * Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas. Other Qualifications: * Ability to self-start and learn on the fly. * Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Internet applications. * Legally permitted to work in the United States. * Ability to work in a general office environment.
