Job Description Job Description Marketing Communications Specialist - Temp to Hire $21/hour, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm Position Summary : Communicate with the public using various methods; recording and distributing accurate minutes from Board and Committee meetings. General Purpose : Inform the public about all programs and initiatives; work with the Deputy and Executive Director serving on Board and Committee Meetings. Position responsibilities: • Must keep the Board members and public informed of all programs and activities • Ensure website is kept up-to-date • Engage in outreach and public information campaigns to solicit participation in all programs. • Manage and administer all Social Media venues like Website, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. • Administer promotions and events as needed and/or appropriate. • Issue press releases to promote a positive image • Actively communicate with members by way of newsletters, emails, and ads. • Oversee the ongoing development and improvement of website. • Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences as required. • Other related duties as assigned Essential skills and experience: • Post-secondary school education at community college or university level and/or appropriate combination of education and experience. • Excellent written and verbal skills. • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills. • Computer skills in MS Office, desktop publishing, database, and website applications. • Understanding of all Social Media platforms. • Ability to multi-task and work well as part of a team. • Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision with a high degree of accuracy and motivation.
