Marketing Communications Specialist

Key Role:

Support the strategic marketing and communications for the Booz Allen Solutions business. Conceptualize, design, and write advertising copy, employee communications, newsletters, website copy, publication materials, and social media content for internal and external audiences. Serve as main point person for internal website development, including the management of design and content updates, copy development, and organizational buy-in. Serve as communication liaison between the Marketing and Communications team and the Solutions business to ensure campaign messaging aligns with Booz Allen brand promise and messaging. Assist with the development of go-to-market strategies for launching solutions among target markets. Help manage small marketing team to ensure deliverables are conceptualized, designed, and delivered to meet deadlines. Serve as a highly articulate team player and operate with a startup mentality to engage executives and clients with the Solutions business.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with marketing government or commercial businesses

  • Experience with writing and developing strategic marketing or advertising content for a variety of channels, including media, web, and social media

  • Experience with being a creative thinker, risk taker, and change agent

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and technologies, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work effectively individually or as a member of a collaborative team, and be a self starter

  • Ability to translate ideas and concepts into professional marketing collateral

  • Ability to see the "big picture" while maintaining strict attention to detail

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines

  • BA or BS degree

In this role, you will work closely with our Marketing and Communications Director and other colleagues on various projects. Responsibilities * Create and edit content including brochures, news releases, marketing emails, web copy, memos, blog posts, and social media, ensuring timeliness and effectiveness. * Serve as an editorial expert, highly competent in syntax, diction, style, and grammar. Own, maintain, and apply the firm's writing and style guidelines. * Maintain and advance internal communications initiatives including the internal newsletter and a variety of firm-wide communications and announcements. * Conduct market research and competitive intelligence to support marketing and business development plans and to create content that supports the strategic positioning of the firm, practices, and experts. * Support thought leadership development. Research and secure speaking opportunities for expert economists. * Ensure consideration for, and leverage inclusion in, awards, rankings, and other opportunities to enhance the firm's profile. * Effectively integrate social media and digital marketing into the broader marketing communications strategy. * Measure the success of marketing campaigns and assist with modifying messaging based on results. * Assist with executing advertising campaigns and coordinate sponsorship and charitable giving requests. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or other related field. * 1-3 years of experience in marketing/marketing communications. Work experience at a professional services firm is a plus. * Experience with a variety of computer programs. Adobe Creative Suite a plus. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate substantive and complex issues in a highly nuanced way to diverse audiences. * Service oriented with outstanding interpersonal skills with people at all levels of an organization. * Highly detail oriented and organized; ability manage multiple priorities and projects.
