The Office of the Physical Plant is seeking a high energy, creative and ambitious marketing professional with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to include public speaking. This position leads internal and external communications for the Physical Plant (OPP) a unit of over 1,500 employees impacting thousands of students, faculty, and staff and requires a high focus on connecting OPP's mission values and goals to all communications and high-quality marketing solutions.
This position works directly with the OPP Associate Vice President's Office, Leadership team, and Office of Strategic Communications to provide situational awareness, advice and direction in terms of communication and marketing initiatives. Duties will include collaboration with OPP leadership and internal/external stakeholders on creative web development, writing, research, and news/public relations. The ideal candidate will be innovative with the ability to excel in areas of marketing plan creation, implementation, and management to advance OPP's strategic plan.
This position will serve as the OPP spokesperson, managing media and general inquiries as the first point of contact when public questions arise. The incumbent will be responsible for all event-related marketing, programs and event communication, publicity, and public relations functions for OPP.
The successful candidate will be the primary web editor and coordinate digital signage for OPP.
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We seek candidates who can demonstrate the ability to write and edit communication materials and news releases for OPP administration, including reports, formal remarks, talking points, and presentations. Experience in social media marketing, content marketing, analytics, market research, public speaking, and creating/executing marketing plans is highly desirable.
