Position Summary:

The Marketing Automation Manager will own the global email marketing program using Marketo to ensure email campaigns are successfully implemented from the planning stage to execution for Bio-Techne brands. This individual will drive overall strategy and best practices for program enhancements to maximize customer value and campaign results. This person must have a passion for continually pushing the email program to the forefront in relation to competitive and industry standards. This role will lead the implementation of marketing automation and customer lifecycle campaigns in partnership with campaign and product managers. This individual will also troubleshoot campaigns, workflows, and data to ensure campaigns

Works with leadership to identify and scope opportunities, work with project teams and end users to plan and implement marketing automation to increase customer engagement and drive revenue. Facilitates the development of ROI/effectiveness analysis. Stays abreast of new technologies and changes in the digital marketing and marketing automation environment to best serve the objectives of the organization. Continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of marketing business processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the global email channel for Bio-Techne brands using Marketo (Triggered and automated emails, segmentation strategy, and CRM compliance)

  • Partners with the Salesforce team to ensure Marketo and Salesforce sync is accurate

  • Acts as the email and marketing automation lead for Bio-Techne brands using Marketo

  • Partner with Salesforce.com Administrator and marketing teams to define segmentation audiences and customer engagement plans. Create new data capture workflows and compliance plans.

  • Work with marketing teams and Salesforce.com Administrator to create and refine business rules to establish strategies for reaching customers

  • Implement A/B testing strategies and future testing roadmap

  • Develop roadmap for moving email marketing programs from batch and blast to 1:1 customer journeys

  • Manage the relationship with Marketo and work with internal teams to ensure the platform meets current and future email marketing needs

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and consult with IT or Marketo support to implement solutions

  • Oversee global email reporting

  • Collaborate with campaign managers for each brand to ensure compliance with email marketing best practice and compliance with segmentation, GDPR, CCPA, CAN SPAM, and other legislation

  • Ensure Bio-Techne brands maintain strong inbox deliverability

  • Excellent project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks across multiple brands

  • Create email reporting dashboards analyzing campaign performance in order to provide actionable recommendations and deliver continuous improvements to the email program

  • Ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple, high-priority projects

  • Critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills a must

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

This position requires a Bachelor's or equivalent with a minimum of 2-5 years' experience in email marketing. Must have strong communication skills with an emphasis on detail, the ability to effectively communicate and interact with peers and senior management. The successful candidate will have strong planning skills and the demonstrated ability to handle many projects at once with a sense of priority. Advanced knowledge of Marketo is required and a Marketo Certified Individual is preferred. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

  • Skills in HTML/CSS coding for email development

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics

  • Skills in administration, decision-making and leadership

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to act independently on routine assignments or projects

  • Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner

  • Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written

  • Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high level of accuracy

  • Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.)
