Job Summary

At Planet Fitness we attribute much of our success to the strength of our marketing division. The Marketing Assistant reports to the Marketing Manager and assists in developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies for our brands. As well as assist the marketing manager in all projects to be able to execute efficiently and effectively by meeting deadlines in a timely manner. To build on this momentum, the marketing assistant will need to contribute to the success of our marketing department. This individual will also assist with existing marketing programs, while also assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with the company and their entities along with meeting client goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the marketing manager and assisting in any marketing projects and tasks.

  • Gathering data on campaign success, often through collecting audience from social media and other channels.

  • Assisting marketing manager in creating detailed and visually appealing graphs or reports to present them to business decision-makers.

  • Assist with set-ups, facilitation, and completion of marketing events.

  • Assist the marketing manager in overseeing the design and graphics of marketing material.

  • Assist in helping identify marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation.

  • Assist in picking up and delivering marketing material from the print shop to all clubs.

  • Working closely with the marketing team and sales department.

  • Maintaining a marketing database.

  • Providing administrative support to the marketing department.

  • Conducting market research to better understand the marketing needs of the organization and its target audience.

  • Assist in any daily meetings with management.

  • Updating social media accounts as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2 years minimum experience in marketing with social and integrated media experience.

  • Knowledge of traditional digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing.

  • Experience with research using data analytics software. Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Planning experience preferred

  • Experience in campaign analytics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills.

  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Extremely detailed oriented, efficient, and organized with an excellent ability to establish priorities and objectives.

  • Collaborative team player with an upbeat positive attitude!

  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Exhibit confidence, ease, and flexibility working in an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing, deadline-driven environment.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field (or 1-2 years proven work history, could be currently perusing a degree in marketing can be considered.) is a plus. Will consider work experience and in school experience candidates.

Job/Schedule Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30 Fridays could change due to weekend events. (Weekends as needed or modified schedule due to school), Part Time could be available depending on workload.

Physical Demands

  • Continual standing and walking during shift

  • Typical office setting but might be required to travel around the city

  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
