Marketing Assistant

Cooley is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join the Marketing team in supporting the firm's Litigation practice groups.

Position summary: Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant will work closely with other marketing team members to support business development and marketing activities for the litigation department. The primary goal is to drive revenue through supporting the administrative aspects of new business opportunities and client expansion programs, including pitches and proposals, events and sponsorships, key client initiatives, and sales pipeline management.

Position responsibilities:

Data entry

  • Enter and update bio, practice group and experience records in databases

  • Salesforce

  • Basic updating of account / pipeline / contact records

  • De-dedupe contact and account records

  • Basic creation of campaign records

  • Event invitation list management:

  • Update marketing lists with new contacts/clients from firm activity

  • Assist with upcoming invitation creation and events activities

  • Review attendance and contact information after events and updating Salesforce and event ROI documents, as needed

Data management

  • Matter tracking for the following department/practice groups:

  • Business litigation

  • Employment & Labor

  • Intellectual Property Litigation

  • Patent

  • Pro Bono

  • Product Liability & Compliance

  • Securities Litigation

  • Trademark Copyright & Advertising

  • White Collar Defense & Investigations

  • Education

  • Communications

  • Salesforce management. Create and update pipeline records


  • Synthesize and analyze pipeline and pitch history for targeting efforts

  • Management of key litigation department initiatives

  • Support senior marketing team members in their respective roles at the annual partners' meetings

Pitch support

  • Create and update logo slides

  • Support edits to pitch documents

  • Download and format bios

  • Draft opportunity details to be tracked within Salesforce

  • Win/loss follow-up

  • Support litigation department events, sponsorships and external client activities

  • Act as project & deadline calendar coordinator

  • Coordinate with secretaries to calendar various partner/marketing calls

Skills and experience:


  • Available to work overtime, as required

  • After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications


  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business, communication, marketing, or related field


  • Acute attention to detail

  • Excellent oral and written communication and proofreading skills

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines efficiently and maintain flexibility

  • Ability to work independently

  • High level of initiative, diplomacy and tact

  • Professional demeanor

Cooley offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package. EOE.

Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay For Equal Work Act, please find the compensation range specific to this role if based in CO, as well as a description of bonus and benefits generally applicable across all US offices.

  • Colorado pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on skillset and experience - $22.00 to $26.00 hourly

  • Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.

  • Employees in this role will have the option to elect various benefits, including medical, dental, vision, accidental death and dismemberment, life insurance, dependent life insurance, long term disability, long-term care insurance, health savings accounts (if enrolled in an HDHP), health/dependent care spending accounts, 401(k) and profit sharing.
