Position Description
This is a non-Civil Service position in the Office of Family Safety (OFS) charged with managing the marketing and events program and providing community outreach services for Metro's Office of Family Safety. This position is charged with planning, producing, and executing communications and marketing plan activities such as social media, awareness events, promotions, and materials, and provides community outreach services for Metro's Office of Family Safety.
Supervision Exercised/Supervision Received
This position works under the direct supervision of the Director of Outreach and Engagement. It is responsible for training interns and new employees, serving as a field instructor for social work students (BSW/MSW only), and supervising interns, including serving as task supervisor for interns, as needed.
Working Environment/Physical Demands
The work environment involves high exposure to trauma of victims of interpersonal violence at risk for homicide. The risk of vicarious trauma is high. The office environment is favorable and only normal safety precautions typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, etc.

Typical Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing and Social Media
Design and produce high-quality visual materials, including infographics, social media graphics, flyers, brochures, posters, and digital ads.
Develop creative concepts and materials to deliver the OFS' mission and vision to the media and the public.
Manage quarterly OFS and FSC newsletters.
Support the outreach team in developing timelines, organizational plans, and internal communications for cohesiveness and transparency across the organization.
Coordinate social media promotions and campaigns and track success.
Help to build and execute social media strategy.
Generate, edit, and share daily content to build meaningful connections and encourage community members to act.
Set up and optimize OFS' pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the department's social media content.
Stay informed about industry trends, design best practices, and advancements in digital marketing to improve our materials and strategies continuously.
Edit and update the OFS website with support from teams within the agency.
Collaborate with other departments to spread awareness through their social media platforms.
Communicate with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner.
Events
Oversee and coordinate monthly awareness and social events.
Coordinate with internal staff, clients, and vendors to establish the requirements for an event, and serve as liaison to staff, partners, and community members throughout the planning process.
Plan and facilitate logistics for all events, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials.
Manage on-site preparations, production, and event breakdown; and ensure consistent, high-level service throughout all phases.
Manage event materials and equipment set up and tear down.
Create and edit video content for OFS brand.
Outreach, Engagement, and Partner Coordination
Assist in identifying, recruiting, coordinating, and maintaining strong working relationships in the community to enhance outreach needs.
Attend community outreach and education events as required by OFS agency needs.
Host FSC and JCAC tours for in and out of state partners and community members as needed.
Collaborate with new and current partnerships to further the OFS mission and outreach initiatives.
Program Development/Quality Assurance:
Track and inventory programmatic and outreach materials to ensure items are stocked and ready for events.
Report social media, website, news, and outreach outcomes to leadership team.
Keep up to date on the latest tools, web technologies and social media practices and take advantage of opportunities.
Adhere to Metro and Grant policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
4 year degree in related area.
Experience using CANVA, Venngage, Adobe, and other graphic design platforms.
Proven track record in project management.
Social media experience including planning and managing content in an agency setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have a thorough understanding of social media management and strategy.
Ability to work sensitively with adults and children who have experienced trauma while maintaining appropriate boundaries and utilizing strengths-based models.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
Background check
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bilingual (Spanish/English or Arabic/English) preferred.
Problem solver, highly efficient, and detail-oriented.
Experience working on domestic violence, sexual assault or related issues.
Experience with data management and analytics, particularly Microsoft Access.
Experience working in or with both non-profits and the criminal justice system.
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams/collaboratives,
Experience working under and reporting on grants.
