The College of Natural Resources is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist. This primary duties of this position will include but not be limited to:
Will support the implementation of the College of Natural Resources' communications and marketing plan to build the brand of the College through a broad range of communications that showcase the College's key strengths, faculty, staff, students, research and more.
Develop content that engages audience segments including prospective students, alumni, donors and the general public. Help ensure that the right messages are going out on the right channels.
*Research, write and post news stories to cnr.ncsu.edu highlighting the College's research, alumni, students, community and industry impact, philanthropy and more.
Work with faculty and staff throughout the College to write and edit content for communications in both print and online formats, including newsletters, annual reports, news posts and more.
Provide design support for print materials including reports, brochures, invitations, flyers and more.
Help manage the College's master communications calendar based on important events and opportunities as well as editorial dates of appropriate media outlets.
Research and track College of Natural Resources news coverage and story placement in both print and other media, as well as help identify new outlets to market and communicate the College's news and achievements.
Manage the production of the Pinetum, the College's student journal, and work with student groups to gather content and photographs.
Support the management of the College's email marketing platform by maintaining email lists for college-wide communications; utilize the digital marketing platform to build and send html emails.
Support the maintenance of College and departmental websites by reviewing, updating and rewriting existing webpage content and replacing images as needed; update homepage content and images.
Provide support for internal and external communications produced by departments and programs to ensure brand compliancethis includes fliers, event announcements, html emails, PowerPoint/presentations, newsletters, recruiting materials and more.
Support implementation of brand visually throughout College's buildingsincluding display cases, fliers, digital bulletin boards.
Manage a group of student interns to support graphic design and photography needs of College.
Work collaboratively with social media specialist to identify content for social media channels.
Work collaboratively with web manager to maintain College and department websites.
Take photos as needed at College events.
Manage and organize the College's photography bank.
Manage the digital billboard system displaying news and events throughout the college.
Track faculty awards. Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple work responsibilities and work closely with others. Ability to understand complex scientific topics and summarize into terms understandable to varied audiences and generate content on a wide-range of topics, both scientific and human interest. Experience with InDesign or similar graphics software. Experience with WordPress or similar software.
The University Of North Carolina
