Marketing and Communications Specialist
The role of the Marketing and Communications Specialist willbe to effectively execute marketing strategies, assist with campaigndevelopment, analyze effectiveness and develop new ideas and programs.This position plays an integral role inengaging with NANAs internal customers as well as NANA Shareholders.This position will report directly to the Marketingand Communications Manager.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities
Coordinate meetings with appropriate individuals in planning,preparation and distribution of products.
Responsible for assisting with implementation of communicationstrategies, tactics and systems.
Assist with outbound or inbound marketing activities in various areas,such as content development, advertising, media etc.
Assist in supporting NANA s brand management.
Assists with the creation and implementation of the NANAs marketingplan and collateral materials
Compiles, organizes, and processes varying types of communicationsdata.
Assist in analyzing market data to help shape future marketingstrategies.
Prepares reports, presentations, correspondences and/or collateral asneeded.
Will help support NANAs online/social media strategies, campaigns andactivities.
Assists in developing and implementing public relations strategies andprograms as needed.
Serves as back-up (as needed) for the Marketing and CommunicationsManager.
Maintains positive relationships while working with a wide variety ofindividuals to deliver NANAs message.
May partner with external vendors to execute promotional events andcampaigns
Operate in a climate of confidentiality requiring discretion.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or units success also may be assigned.
High SchoolDiploma or GED equivalent.
BA communications,marketing, design or related liberal arts field or commensurate personal andprofessional experience.
3 years relatedmarketing, communications, public relations, agency or related experience.
Intermediate MSoffice skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Exceptionalcommunication and writing skills.
Valid Alaskadrivers license with and acceptable driving record to be eligible under NANAsvehicle insurance policy.
Organizational andinterpersonal communications skills highly desired with proven ability toestablish and work within timelines.
Must be able towork independently and offer solutions by developing plans, or by implementingand executing solutions.
NANA shareholderand familiarity with the geography, culture and people of Northwest Alaskapreferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoors - environmentally controlled;requires most or all work to be done inside.
Noise level: The noise level in the work environmentis usually that of a standard office atmosphere.
Description of environment: Office building with standard officeenvironment.
Physical requirements: Employee is required to occasionally lift and/ormove up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingersto handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see,taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
Travel: Up to 25% of the time. Employee maytravel throughout Alaska and/or to remote locations and may be required to usealternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snowmachines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs.Travel to and from the worksite will be provided and arranged by NANA.
This level must be capable of performing at the full performance leveland able to handle complex duties required in the department.Incumbents must be able to prioritize theirwork assignments.This level requiresspecialized skills and a significant body of knowledge of the assigned areasactivities.This level works under onlygeneral or indirect supervision and requires moderate independentjudgement.It also requires the abilityto adapt to new work situations and make recommendations for improvements inthe assigned work field.
