The Marketing and Communications Manager, will report to H. Beck, Inc. located in Rockville Maryland 20850

The Marketing and Communications Manager develops and executes a marketing and communications strategy to engage associates and advisors, build momentum and energize change. The critical focus of this role is developing content and effectively delivering messages in a variety of venues and formats as well as marketing H. Becks products and services to its advisors.

Essential Functions

  • Work with management team to determine communications and marketing strategies for transformational H. Beck initiatives
  • Create detailed marketing and communications plans for key initiatives
  • Develop key messages and communications for internal and external audiences
  • Leverage agency resources to refine strategies, plans and messaging
  • Enhance web and social media communication efforts to deliver information
  • Plan and develop periodic presentations, updates, blogs and newsletters
  • Market H. Becks product and service offerings to advisors to drive adoption and sales
  • Manage communications and marketing needs for events/conferences
  • Work with all departments to streamline Advisor communications and simplify messages
  • Manage agency relationship to develop materials including printed collateral, email messages, newsletter and website content

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong presentation abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to turn factual information and news into exciting value for audiences
  • Creative and resourceful to meet multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics to audience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires hands-on support and business teamwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in marketing or communications
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications roles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of grammar, writing and information gathering
  • Proven track record of providing measurable results and meaningful impact

This is position is based at our Rockville, MD office. Key Responsibilities: * Serve as deputy project manager on key federal health projects, both doing and overseeing the completion of project work and deliverables. * Simultaneously managing the project and owning key tasks to complete autonomously, with oversite and direction as/if needed, from the project manager. * Support project manager in strategic communications planning, program development, digital communications, materials development, video production, media relations, campaign evaluation, and stakeholder outreach. * Informally manage the project team, including assigning tasks, reviewing their work and providing feedback/comment, and conducting a final quality control prior to sending products to the client for review/approval. * Work with our internal creative services team to oversee the writing, editing, and graphic design of educational and promotional materials to support a range of communication efforts, including the development of audio/visual products. * Coordinate formative research and evaluation activities. * Provide administrative and logistics support across projects including managing project timelines, deliverables, and work plans, and reviewing meeting notes and monthly project reports. * Implement communication strategies and tactics to reach and engage audiences to increase visibility of government data, resources, and materials. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in public health, health communication, public relations, social sciences, or equivalent required * 8+ years of communications experience, government experience preferred. * Demonstrated experience with federal health agencies, developing, and implementing public health communications campaigns. * Experience with opioid overdose prevention communication preferred. Professional Skills: * Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines at once. * Excellent verbal, written, organizational and management skills. * Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to clients' communications challenges/problems.
