The Marketing Analytics Supervisor will use their technical and business skills to push deeper analytics into our daily actions and decisions. They will manage a team that is responsible for reporting, analyzing and optimizing the performance of our direct to consumer marketing initiatives and performance of key platforms or support areas integral to the success of a direct insurance writer such as the website and sales center. This team is made up of individual contributors with backgrounds in marketing analytics, other insurance analytics such as Actuarial or Product Management and has experience in pulling/managing data.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Conduct analytics to provide data-driven insights on marketing and other acquisition costs, retention and customer longevity, customer lifetime value, consumer buying behavior and other related topics
Leverage data-driven insights to proactively recommend solutions for optimizing these metrics
Support annual production & expense budgeting and recurring reforecast needs
Report on trends in KPIs and provide insight into drivers of changes in performance
Develop, implement and maintain predictive models to segment prospects by key metrics such as response rate, close rate & expected longevity
Collaborate with key stakeholders such as the Marketing Operations, Data, Product Management and Data Science teams to accomplish these goals
Provide leadership and guidance to the team of analysts to accomplish these tasks
Comfortable shifting between managing a team and taking on individual performer roles as needed
Qualifications and Education
Master's degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
7-10 years' experience in managerial role supervising marketing analytics, predictive analytics or actuarial projects - insurance experience preferred, but not required
Experience in developing multivariate predictive models preferred
Knowledge of advance modeling and statistical capabilities with demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge to deliver pragmatic business solutions
Expertise in SQL, SAS, R or other data ETL and statistical software
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and visualization tools like Tableau
Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to answer business questions with a high degree of autonomy, including when the available data is not perfect
Superb project management skills with strong ownership mentality towards assigned projects and comfort with changing direction as required by business needs
Strong communication skills (oral and written) with demonstrated ability to explain challenging concepts to broad range of audiences including senior management
