Hendrickson is searching for a Market Segment Manager for their Vocational product group. This role is based in Woodridge, IL with Hendrickson's Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems Division.

This individual will be responsible for segment product planning, strategy, objectives, development, launch, and support for the vocational assigned product lines. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development and execution of the annual business & marketing plan for assigned segment & associated product lines.

  • Be an active member of assigned SPPD program teams, responsible for completing all marketing and phase exit deliverables.

  • Responsible for creating pricing strategy for new products or customers, complete price change requests including support information to define strategy & confirm pricing.

  • Develop and manage the timing and implementation of detailed market and sales plans to support new products.

  • Develop and communicate marketing strategies to support segment / product sales objectives.

  • Maintain regular contact with the Sales Organization (OEM & Field), keeping them up to date on new announcements, providing support materials and emphasizing key areas of focus to support sales objectives.

  • Manage production of all sales support materials, advertising, and promotion plans for assigned segment / product lines.

  • Support assigned products at trade shows, provide input to MARCOM on priorities and key messages for each show.

  • Responsible for competitive intelligence gathering and analysis for designated product line.

  • Responsible for developing and presenting business cases for new business opportunities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with OEM customer counterparts.

  • Participate in product planning meetings with OEM customers.

  • Responsible for managing department budget for assigned segment / product lines.

  • Ensure website is up to date with current product information. Promote use of social media channels.

  • Manage the development and analysis of market surveys to discover concerns, opportunities, and to define improvement needs.

  • Support continuous improvement ideas, including cross-functional team and SOP 4.4K participation.

  • Responsible for segment / product line pricing and profitability.

  • Manages sales concession, seed unit and rebate programs for assigned segment / product lines.

  • Travel with field sales and/or marketing personnel.

  • Create training curriculum for new employees and the sales team, participate in training events as the subject matter expert for assigned products. Lead, manage and develop direct report(s) as assigned.

Want to be considered for this exciting opportunity? The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or engineering, MBA preferred.

  • 5 years Industrial Marketing or related background in some or all of the following:

  • Sales/marketing data analysis

  • Marketing research and surveys

  • Advertising/Customer communications

  • Sales promotion literature development/catalogue or product positioning

  • Product Management

  • Suspension engineering

  • Field sales in the commercial vehicle industry

  • Experience in the heavy trucking, commercial vehicle or automotive industry required.

  • Computer literacy with Windows environment. Good PowerPoint skills, knowledge of Social Media.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.

  • Organization and time management skills.

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated with good organization and planning skills.

  • Must have good people skills and be able to develop good working relationships with the customers, distributors, sales group, staff, etc.

  • Needs to have a mechanical/technical aptitude (to be able to describe features/benefits to customers).

  • Must be assertive.

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills required.

This individual must be willing to travel to customers locations, industry shows and events (10% ).
