Global Market Research and Insights (GMRI) is a central, shared research and analytical center of excellence that supports fact-based decision making. Members of the team serve across our business lines and have the opportunity to develop core competencies, such as segmentation, value proposition development, brand positioning and tracking, advertising and creative evaluation, and satisfaction enhancement. We seek to partner with our internal clients and business across several areas:

  • Identifying new business opportunities and areas for business growth

  • Understanding the needs expectations of consumer, clients and brokers

  • Evaluating customer loyalty / satisfaction to inform customer experience priorities

  • Designing and assessing products, services and channel approaches

  • Tracking brand performance and recommending course adjustment

  • Building our brand positioning and relevancy

The Role

The Market Research Senior Specialist will report to GMRI leadership and will be responsible for supporting multiple internal clients and a variety of key initiatives. The Senior Specialist will develop and drive a research agenda to support insight development and communication to internal stakeholders. The role collaborates across all levels of the organization to define business and research objectives and recommend and execute appropriate research designs. Ultimately, the Senior Specialist ensures research is conducted with business actions in mind, at the highest quality levels to build trust and confidence in the insights and implications that support key business decisions.

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

  • Quality control

  • Vendor management

  • Compliance with internal and external regulations

  • Keeping up to date on latest methodologies and technology

  • Synthesis of insights across multiple projects, sources etc.

  • Clear and convincing communication of insights

  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • End-to-end research management experience: engage stakeholders in research planning, design, execute, analyze, present findings and drive insights to actions

  • Merge data from different sources to conduct analysis and identify insights

  • Proven experience managing and extracting insights from both quantitative and qualitative researches

  • Proven experience managing research vendors

  • Bachelor's degree

  • A minimum of 5 years market research experience

  • Proficient with cleaning data and running basic analysis using Excel e.g. using vlookup, pivot table, and running correlation

  • Proficient with creating impactful presentations from scratch (run analysis, chart, and write up recommendations)

  • Comfortable leading in a highly collaborative setting, ability to effectively influence and work with senior leaders

  • Track record in driving a research agenda with real impact in a complex and matrixed business environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in both consumer and B2B research

  • Understanding of health industry or broader financial services

  • Experience with rendering insights using Tableau

  • Influential and impactful presentation and communication skills

  • Experience with programming surveys and creating dashboards on Qualtrics platform

The Senior Specialist will leverage knowledge of the IT industry, structure of related contracts, as well as software management processes in order to select the external provider that will meet the needs of Cigna, while optimizing costs. Primary Duties: * Work with sourcing professionals, business partners, and internal stakeholders from across multiple business units in order to deliver and execute an optimal sourcing strategy for the good of the firm. * Initiate and drive the sourcing process across the organization, managing multiple stakeholders. * Lead the end to end sourcing process from market analysis to RFP through business terms as well as contract negotiations and execution. * Analyze business requirements to formulate high level supply chain strategies that are aligned with Cigna business units. * Analyze industries, supply markets and research potential suppliers and recommend alternatives and provide insight to IT decision makers. * Review, revise, and/or draft contracts with suppliers to optimize benefit and minimize risk to Cigna. * Communicate with and convene other Cigna stakeholders as needed * Develop strategies for assigned categories that include market, spend, strategic importance, geographic considerations, etc. The sourcing categories under the scope of this position may include but are not limited to: * Software * Software-as-a-Service * Related implementation and support services Functional Responsibilities: * Negotiate contracts with suppliers. * Review, revise and or edit contracts, service level agreements, master agreements, orders and statements of work to optimize value and mitigate risk to Cigna * Provide analysis and support of business decision making. * Drive internal and external adherence to Cigna's sourcing policies and processes * Establish role as a valued business advisor to business units * BA / BS in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement/Sourcing, IT, or related field strongly preferred * Excellent negotiation and listening skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong customer focus experience in dealing with internal customers * Efficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint ) * Demonstrated experience in drafting, revising and reviewing contracts, Work Orders, Service Level Agreements, Change Requests and Statements of Work. * Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills. * Strong communication, facilitation and leadership skills with a proven ability to lead, influence and motivate others. * Strong time management skills; highly organized and detailed oriented. * Strong analytical, cross-functional communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills. * Knowledge of procurement principles, theories and processes. * Knowledge of Finance, IT operations and Sourcing * Strong leadership skills; inspires confidence and respect with associates and suppliers * Strong decision making/problem solving skills; can identify issues, recommend and implement solutions * Strong organizational, consultative and collaboration skills - builds relationships and is able to effectively influence both internal and external business partners * Demonstrates negotiation and supplier management skills with proven success * Cross-functional business team environment experience preferred with an ability to foster working relationships with the team and across internal departments. * Domain Expertise in listed categories * Experience with eSourcing applications such as Emptoris or Ariba Cigna Bloomfield CT
