The Market Research Manager partners with brand and agency teams to drive major strategic marketing, communication and new product decisions through consumer insights, including both strategic initiatives (e.g., brand strategy and positioning, new product development, geographic expansion) and tactical initiatives (e.g., pricing, taste testing, marketing campaign tracking). This position shares consumer insights best practices and internal knowledge across the portfolio of brands. As a key member of the market research team, this person works with all the consumer brands in the Wonderful portfolio and serves a critical partnership role with both brand marketing and agency teams.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Design and lead research for our entire portfolio of iconic brands (FIJI Water, POM Wonderful, Wonderful Pistachios, etc.)

  • Analyzes qualitative and quantitative research data results, report and present findings, and make insightful and actionable recommendations.

  • Identifies and implements new and innovative research techniques to address business needs.

  • Delivers insights in a compelling and creative way as research is used to inform creative briefs for advertising/PR/marketing campaigns.

  • Forms strong working relationships and collaborates closely with brand and agency team members.

  • Leads the development and execution of the knowledge agenda for the brands.

  • Provides thought leadership in developing practical solutions to business challenges.

  • Serves as the voice of the consumer in all interactions with brand senior management and marketers.

  • Designs, coordinates and executes strategic qualitative and quantitative research projects which may include focus groups, online tools, and other research methods.

  • Willing to be hands-on in the quantitative (survey design and writing, creating banner and tab plans, etc.) and qualitative (screener development, recruiting, etc.) research processes

  • Manages project work with research suppliers, requests and analyzes proposals, establishes timelines and workflows to deliver successful research studies for the team.

  • Attends research conferences to better understand emerging research methods and techniques.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • 6-8 years of experience in consumer and market research, especially with a top market research firm or CPG company.

  • Must have strong project management skills.

  • Experience in leading and executing research projects, both qualitative and quantitative.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and work effectively with brand and agency partners, outside research vendors, and within the research team.

  • Must be detail oriented without sacrificing a broad strategic perspective.

  • Strong analytical skills, comfort with data analysis is essential.

  • Comfort with point of sale data tools like IRI and Nielsen a plus.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a confident manner with the ability to as this and interact with senior level executives including ownership.

  • Must be focused, organized, results-oriented individual.

  • Needs to work well autonomously, and bring a strong, conscientious work ethic.

  • Travel for in-field market research, when necessary 10-15% approximately.

The Coleman Survey team was formed in 2012 and is the fastest-growing area of the company. Responsibilities of the Market Research Manager position may include: * Acting as a subject matter expert on Coleman's survey research services * Participating in client calls and meetings with our sales team to identify new survey project opportunities * Partnering with our sales team to develop a robust pipeline of West Coast survey research projects * Fielding incoming research requests from West Coast clients and scoping out survey research projects * Working with our sales team to recommend the best research approach in our quotes and proposals * Managing West Coast survey projects and all related day-to-day research execution activities * Assisting in building out and developing a West Coast Survey team over time Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree * Minimum of 8-10 years of quantitative primary market research experience * Prior experience in a client-facing role and top-notch client relationship management skills * Experience leading, managing and growing key client relationships and achieving positive revenue growth * Self-starter with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision * Knowledge of and/or experience with various research modes (i.e. online, CATI) * Strong research methodologist – ability to understand clients' needs and recommend the best approach * Broad quantitative research experience (i.e., brand health studies, concept tests, customer experience, etc.) * Stellar market research project management skills – agile research experience a plus * Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills * Extremely organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize diverse demands * Experience with and desire to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment * Interest in working with/across a global team is required (prior experience doing so is a plus) Preferred: The following are strongly desired skills and experiences but are not required. * A client-centric mindset and way of working * Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel * Advanced working knowledge of SPSS * Panel management experience a plus * Experience with data quality reviews and data cleansing techniques * Working knowledge of and/or experience with statistical techniques (i.e. data weighting) * Experience with qualitative research studies (i.e. overseeing or conducting them) * Experience with at least one online survey platform (i.e. Confirmit, Qualtrics, Decipher) * Prior people management experience is a plus Why Join Us?
