Role

Are you passionate about using market, technology and product insights to help a creative team succeed with mid- and long-term planning? Can you conduct, analyze, summarize, and present research to help Executive and Product teams be successful with strategic initiatives? If you answered yes to these questions, then we have a home for you at Splunk. We are seeking a highly motivated, results oriented individual to conduct Market Research for our Security Markets group.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an individual contributor to analyze the adoption of information security technology to guide strategy planning and execution. You should be excellent at conducting primary and secondary research, at developing a hypothesis on where the market is headed and at communicating your findings, insights and recommendation at an executive level. As a key member of the Strategy and Framework team in the Security Markets Group at Splunk:

  • You will monitor and analyze information technology adoption trends across a variety of sources including: customer interviews, industry analyst reports, vendor capabilities, funding, M&A activity, etc.

  • You will anticipate the emergence and adoption of new information technology solutions by monitoring indicators of market activity.

  • You will support the development of strategic business and product plans for executive leadership, business operations, product management, product marketing, engineering, etc.

  • You will provide insight and vision into multiple products, vendors, and markets as part of the planning process.

  • You will apply technology experience and aptitude to pick up and dive deep into the technology if required.

Requirements

  • Information technology experience. 3-5 years' experience in a technology company, or credible consulting firm with strong exposure to technology or role that has information technology responsibility.

  • Research Proficiency. Build, conduct, analyze and report on market research including surveys, interviews, case studies, statistical analysis, analyst/journal reviews, meta-analysis, etc.

  • High-energy, positive standout colleague. This is a highly interconnected role with significant impact on multiple team members

  • Well-tuned interpersonal skills. Strong in written and oral communication, and able to synthesize and explain complex ideas to a variety of audiences

  • Academic Qualifications. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Business and Technology (MBAT) is required.

  • Experience working directly with security product companies is a plus

  • This role will be based in Santana Row (San Jose)
