P&L accountability for the market, including Key and Select Accounts, Small Group, Public & Labor, National Accounts, Medicare (Group and Individual) and Specialty Products (e.g. Dental).
Develops, implements and translates organizational strategies that align to market strategies to achieve LOB targets
Provides direction and fosters a common vision and focus on business goals and objectives.
Challenge the status quo to lead CVS Aetna Health transformation agenda
Develops and maintains knowledge of the business across the aligned market and anticipates and plans for investments needed to reshape the business to meet emerging market needs

Oversees the geographic portfolio developing and implementing plans to optimize geographic markets

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, large-scale healthcare executive with a positive industry reputation, an entrepreneurial spirit, and demonstrated general management acumen required to drive customer and revenue growth. The Market President will not only understand the changing dynamics of healthcare, but will be seen as a leader who can drive innovation and new solutions development that leverages the full breadth of CVS Health assets to bolster market differentiation.
A strong understanding of the commercial business and how to drive sales across national accounts will be critical. The successful candidate will bring experience operating in a matrixed environment, excelling at cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will be an excellent strategic thinker, who is growth-oriented and can quickly understand the economics of the Company as well as the shifting needs of clients and the competitive landscape. The Market President will represent Aetna as a thought leader within the Company, as well as throughout the respective community.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial in nature and have the skills of a General Manager to drive customer and revenue growth through cross-functional collaboration, managing medical cost, exerting influence, and providing strong leadership.
Demonstrated success leading a multi-billion-dollar P&L in complex and highly regulated environment with excellent business knowledge of the healthcare industry and current healthcare trends; an understanding of the commercial business will be critical.
Experience developing innovative and profitable product strategies.
Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements and showing diligence in matters of compliance.
Proven long-term relationships with key external stakeholders, including Fortune 100 employers, brokers and government agencies.
Successful track record of leading sales into national accounts, leveraging vertical opportunities.
