Position Summary

The Market Manager is responsible for the development and execution of business strategies and action plans to deliver sustainable and profitable growth for the entire Food & Beverage market including all sub markets, in line with financial and strategic goals of the Annual Operating and Strategic Business Plans.

Essential Job Functions

  • Define the direction we take to make money and grow the business

  • Own & drive cross functional alignment

  • Collaborate with innovation, R&D, sales, operations, marketing and leadership to define and execute Annual operating & strategic plans

  • Ensure a regular and strong interface with cross-divisional sales organizations for addressing market and customer issues

  • Lead assessment of market/technology/regulatory trends and competitive activities relevant to the assigned market(s) and develop appropriate strategic responses

  • Ensure customization of NA growth strategies to support appropriate key elements relevant for translation and alignment with site strategies and new product development

  • Understand, communicate, and define the actions for profitability of the portfolio (pricing)

  • Work with Marketing Communications to refine the external assigned market(s) portfolio message, position and content for brand, product trademarks and marketing communication channels

  • Lead development and execution of focused growth strategies

  • Define and lead the new product development justification and launch process by collaborating with Innovation, R&D, sales, manufacturing, supply chain, communications and leadership to drive externally-focused innovation.

  • Monitor and communicate business trends, competitive, regulatory and technology developments, assess business impact, take action

  • Identify and define target opportunities, provide target account analysis; focusing on strategic account acquisition and organic growth of ProAmpac's strategic

Supportive Job Functions

  • Define and communicate Stage Gate and Stage Gate-Lite product strategies for current/future R&D projects to help align resources with market direction

  • Ensure a regular and strong interface with cross-divisional sales organizations for market and customer issues

  • Define and engage team on how our products are used, how they add value and customers future needs

  • Manage projects to optimize use of technical resources in organization

  • Collaborate with Marcom and Corporate Communications on market channel strategy and campaign development

  • Utilize CRM to track and assess ROI of marketing campaigns

  • Understand current contract packaging and OEM network; engage with regional leadership to align channel strategies to maximize product market penetration

Manage product portfolio activities via robust & action-oriented product management process

  • Own & drive cross functional alignment

  • Understand impact and develop strategies to address gaps in our current offerings relative to growth opportunities

  • Serve as the business point person for the Food & Beverage Market; understand market drivers and competitive dynamics & implement actions to address

  • Develop pricing strategies the Food & Beverage Market, product portfolio positioning

  • Understand/engage with site and Sales leadership to align channel strategies to optimize product market

Qualifications, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year university in a tehcincal or business discipline. Post-graduate degree a plus.

  • 5 - 15 years work experience, with significant experience in a marketing, product management, sales and commercial leadership roles

  • Proven talent for leading a multi-cultural team in a matrix organization

  • Expertise with wide range of marketing practices and tools including project management and commercialization

  • Travel requirements: 40%-50%

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs, and develop solutions and/or options.

  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.

This role operates in a professional office environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.
