Responsible for managing all aspects of network engineering and operations, including oversight of all field and switch network operations and maintenance, cell site development, RF design and optimization, and performance monitoring of operating systems. This position initiates and executes market strategy with financial oversight and guidance. Market Manager oversees and fosters the partnership with T-Mobile Sales Departments and Call Center Care Teams in collaborative support towards market subscriber growth.

What you'll do in your role.

  • Leads a high-performance team, including the following direct reports: RF Engineering Manager, Development Manager, Operations Manager, Switch Manager and related departments. Oversees the design and optimization of the wireless network and microwave systems and ensures network reliability.

  • Leverages goal setting, ongoing assessment, coaching, and performance evaluation to support performance and behavior objectives for direct and indirect reports in the function. Recognizes development needs and identifies/creates development opportunities within the workgroup. Contributes to succession, diversity, and talent pool planning. Assures field engineering staffing and training. Creates an environment for ongoing peer development.

  • Ability to mentor and accelerate the growth of high potentials, stretch the performance of other leaders, motivate and inspire.

  • Provides routine status reports, project reports, and any other periodic review materials, as required. Prepares accurate cost analysis of all development projects, and forecasts accurate project completion dates. Manages site selection, site acquisition, local regulatory processes, and civil construction. Responsible for vendor management and ensures efficiency and profitability for the company. Presents to Regional Executive leadership team Quarterly / Annual market progress reports.

  • Prepares annual market budgets and assures fiscal accountability.

  • Executes strategy and technical rollouts of special projects and national initiatives that relate to the corporate strategies and that typically extend over multiple quarters.

  • Collaborates with the Network Operations Center (NOC), Corporate Customer Service team, and the local sales team to promptly identify and use resources to resolve any service problems.

  • Oversees the operation and advancement of the network switching facility in collaboration with the company's critical facility management team.

The senior manager will report directly to the Director, IWSS Product Engineering and will be responsible to achieve business commitments. The senior manager will provide technical, programmatic, and administrative leadership to 5 first level managers and their associated groups with a span of control of approximately 100 engineers. The senior manager will direct teams to ensure successful implementation of electrical sensor hardware requirements for multiple programs for the IWSS Line of Business. The senior manager will be responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, recognition and disciplinary actions. The senior manager will oversee the design, development, documentation, and testing of sensor related products. The senior manager will lead and ensure that the appropriate standards, processes, procedures throughout the hardware development life cycle will be followed. The senior manager will create and maintain staffing plans, coordinate staffing forecasts, recruit and hire to develop the proper skill level mix for the center. The senior manager will participate in the formulation and execution of Product Engineering technical strategy and will support new business pursuits via proposal generation, IRAD planning, development of technical baselines and customer presentations. The senior manager will have interaction with cross functional integrated management teams that will span the Lockheed Martin RMS lines of business. Basic Qualifications This position requires a proven leader with domain expertise in sensor electrical design in areas such as electronics warfare and radar sensors and related signal processors, power systems, or analog and digital hardware or components which are directly applicable to this product area with a minimum of 15 years of directly relevant professional experience. The candidate will have demonstrated competence in managing cross-disciplinary teams and must have a strong understanding of hardware engineering processes and the hardware engineering product life cycle. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at both programmatic and technical levels with subordinates, senior management levels and the customer. The candidate must have demonstrated proficiencies in earned value, schedule, cost and risk management techniques. A technical undergraduate degree is required for this position.
