The Team

You are the link between the individual branches and the broader region. As someone who oversees a network of local branches in an assigned territory, you work closely with branch management to influence the sales teams and drive business revenue opportunities while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

The Expertise You Have

  • Bachelor's Degree is required

  • Three or more years of management within a financial services environment is preferred

  • Series 9/10, 7, and 63 required

  • Series 65 or 66 must be obtained within 3 months of hire

  • State insurance licenses must be obtained within 6 months of hire

  • You have the capability to empower by supporting team decisions and helping remove obstacles

  • Demonstrating passion for learning, you work quickly to apply new knowledge to business development strategies through robust and personalized support and coaching for all associates and leaders

Your Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to fill the role of Area Leader for the Central Texas water operations. This exceptional candidate will play a key role in growing our local Water business. The ideal candidate will have established relationships with clients in the Region, along with technical expertise leading large-scale capital projects in the state. The position will ideally be based in Austin or San Antonio, Texas. As a senior leader, you will be fully accountable for successfully selling and consulting on a range of Water projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with Stantec's global practice team to share best practices across the industry. Your Key Responsibilities * Lead and coordinate business development efforts within Central Texas and surrounding area, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contracts * Develop and steward marketing and business development (M&BD) plans, budgets, and key performance indicators * Develop and implement strategic business/action plan, provide leadership, and deliver performance results to expand the Water practice and client base * Serve as a key member of the practice team to drive profitable growth across the Water service lines * Develop and steward account plans for major accounts * Develop, review, and approve proposals, reports, and contract documents in accordance with Stantec policy * Ensure alignment with the Water sector and the Region * Lead and/or assist with proposal development * Provide technical leadership for water and/or wastewater-related projects, including supervising the work of other engineers, setting the priorities for their scope of work, budgets, and schedules for completing the work, and advising on technical problems and evaluating others' work for technical accuracy and completeness. * Attend selected conferences and maintain active memberships in associations (such as board posts and committee memberships) Your Capabilities and Credentials * Effective communicator and able to work on and lead teams * Established client relationships in the public and private sectors * Experience preparing marketing materials and proposals for federal, state, and/or municipal clients * Supervisory/Project Management experience overseeing multiple projects * Project management and client relations skills * Excellent writing and communication skills * Experience in business planning, billing, scheduling, and QA/QC * Strong team leadership experience Education and Experience * Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field * Minimum of twelve (12) years professional experience, minimum of five (5) years' experience in marketing and business development * Licensed Professional Engineer. Obtain and hold a Texas PE license Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
