Location/Division Specific Information

This position is located within the Genetic Testing Solutions Group part of the Genetic Sciences Division at Thermo Fisher.

How will you an impact?

This employee will be responsible for developing and executing our Genetic Testing Solutions (GTS) marketing plans and launching of new molecular diagnostics products in the clinical market.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute global marketing programs to drive demand for new and existing COVID-19 testing solutions within the GTS portfolio; translate programs into tactical marketing plans and execute through development of sales tools & other marketing materials.

  • Drive marketing activities for new products and product updates as defined in our product development roadmap

  • Able to identify and understand new application uses for existing technology and new product introductions

  • Create and implement appropriate marketing content across multiple channels, including social media, web, video and print.

  • Develop sales force training and customer education material in collaboration with product management, R&D and commercial teams.

  • Partner with ebusiness & digital marketing teams to drive online growth of products.

  • Coordinate with global functions to ensure consistency with brand profiles and company standards.

  • Identify target customer segments and create value propositions and key messages relevant to each segment - direct knowledge of clinical markets is critical

  • Develop and execute Go-to-Market strategies and tactics (i.e. marketing campaigns, programs and projects) to drive initial adoption, generate demand and on-going usage and create loyal customers

  • Able to identify voice of customer and incorporate into marketing plans

  • Perform market sensing & competitive intelligence

  • Work closely with regional marketing development managers to build and execute marketing programs within their regions.

  • Partner with product management to identify and develop market opportunities

  • Identify key performance indicators to measure success and report out metrics on a routine basis.

  • May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

How will you get here?


  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related discipline required


  • 3+ years of scientific industry experience preferred

  • 5 years of experience in a marketing role with demonstrated core competences: 4Ps, marketing mix, marketing communication, channels, segmentation, value proposition, market research analysis, and marketing program development and execution.

  • Experience in marketing to clinical customers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to present publicly to varying audience sizes.

  • Ability to collaborate across functional teams and geographies

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to distill complex information into concise and easy to understand concepts

  • Ability to travel overnight or a for a couple of days about once a month

  • Possess a strong understanding of molecular diagnostics technologies and applications

  • Be comfortable training on technical topics to regional marketing and field sales when necessary

  • Able to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, fast-moving environment

  • Proficient in strategic and tactical thinking; ability to translate this thinking into an executable plan

  • Possess excellent project/program management, organization, time-management, planning, and budgeting skills

  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills, with attention to detail and have the ability to communicate/influence internally and externally with different businesses and management levels

We are looking for a talented and results-driven Global Market Development Manager - Biotech Loyalty to join the Biosciences Division's (BID) Integrated Marketing Programs team. This dynamic, strategic and creative individual will be responsible for retention and advocacy marketing focused primarily on the Biotech market. Their charter will be to develop multi-channel marketing programs that leverage an enticing customer loyalty program to drive increased product adoption, repeat demand, life-time value and incremental revenue primarily from the Biotech market for Thermo Fisher Scientific. The appointed Marketing Manager will use their comprehensive marketing experience targeting or working in the Biotech market, scientific knowledge and customer-centricity to identify and execute against the most effective go-to-market strategies to gain new customers and grow share of wallet. This highly collaborative individual will need to work effectively across multiple marketing, sales and operations functions, leading and influencing cross-functional teams to drive results. The successful individual will enjoy working with intensity, can drive strategy to action, have exceptional organization and communication skills with a diverse marketing skill set. A scientific education is a necessity with a background in cell, protein or molecular biology a plus, combined with solid business acumen to achieve goals on time. Their ability to prioritize and manage multiple parallel projects and work comfortably in a highly matrixed environment will allow them to demonstrate that they are a keen team player while being able to complete projects independently that make a positive impact on the business and customers.
