Market Development Managers will be responsible for achieving key sales objectives through the managing of multiple distributors and aggressively growing new accounts, facilitating the growth and development of the Golden Road Brewing product mix and brand value in a different market area.This position will support the growth of Golden Road in AB's Region 4 (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota) and is based in St. Louis, MO.

  • 60% of duties focused on wholesaler management, 20% Key Accounts & 20% GRB focused Crew Drives.

  • Executes quarterly and annual strategic business plan for achieving budgeted sales figures for defined region area.

  • Execution of Kroger brand plan in Region, along with other retail Chain accounts.

  • Creates, presents, and tracks sales incentive programs to wholesalers.

  • Monitors sales volume goals for wholesalers within defined market.

  • Recommends and implements sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis.

  • Presents new brands and marketing strategies to wholesalers.

  • Follow key timelines to ensure expansion of Golden Road brands meet the expansion model outline.

  • Track & Measure the expansion of Golden Road brands into key chain accounts within the territory.

  • Acts as the direct contact from the brewery to accounts, and wholesalers within market territory.

  • Executes special events, festivals, and On & Off Premise events to promote brand awareness of Golden Road.

  • Manages direct report(s) of Field Sales Representative(s).

  • 5 years Sales or Promotions experience in beverage alcohol industry strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience working in Wholesale environment required.

  • Strong verbal communications skills.

  • Demonstrable time management and organizational skills.

  • Certified Beer Server or Certified Cicerone preferred.

  • Must have the ability to lift and move 35lbs. cases of beer frequently, and move and place 165 lbs. kegs as needed.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Duties * Leads Sales team in determining what is needed to support sales development, grow volume, and add profitability in each specific market. * Maintain consistent two-way communication with field reps. * Achieve annual sales and margin objectives in addition to new product release goals. * Understand both long term and short term competitive pressures and testing needs in assigned market and develop strategies to address. * Develop pricing recommendation for the market. * Identify the top owners and buying accounts for the market * Determine product development needs to attack assigned market and offset competitive threats. * Design and implement a strategy to profitably grow assigned market. * Be the face of Carboline for the assigned market. * Determine testing needs for the market, drive qualification testing needs, champion the testing effort, transform results into information that the sales team can use to generate sales. * Steer advertising and trade show activity. Participate in industry activities (tradeshows, technical papers) associated with assigned market. Use these activities to gain market knowledge and to position Carboline in the forefront of the market space. * Responsible for updating/maintaining training information and support literature located on Carbolink and the website for the assigned market. * Promote new product sales by clearly identifying product use and purpose in assigned market. Identify specific market spaces where product is beneficial. * Take on special assignments as directed by management. * Ensure that Total Quality policies and procedures are met. * Committed to the Company's safety and quality programs.
