Reporting to the Director of Market Data within the Core Research & Market Data Services Organization, the team's Market Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining a solid understanding of the Investment Professional's needs and educating the investment professionals with that knowledge in order to improve Asset Management's utilization of market data products.
As Market Data Analyst, you have an understanding of the continually evolving needs of Investment Professionals. You will develop a strong knowledge of the investment research/ management services available to Fidelity from external vendors and other sources. As Market Data Analyst, you will identify gaps and/or trends in market data coverage by actively leading product evaluations, trials and rollouts of new market data vendors and products and collects feedback from investment personnel on the effectiveness of vendor products.
Travel to the Boston office 1-2 times per week required. Travel to Smithfield, RI office required as needed.
You assist our Investment Professionals in defining needs and identifying alternative solutions
You train and help customize desktop products for the Investment Professionals
You will provide market information support to Investment Professionals on an ad-hoc and scheduled basis
Over time, you will insure Investment Professionals are maximizing market data service utility
Aid in informing investment professionals of noteworthy events from the market data vendors
Assist with rollouts/upgrades of market data applications
Process market data audits to assess if the firm will continue to utilize specific products
Coordinate market data terms and transfers across divisions to ensure that the change management process continues through staffing changes
Develop descriptions for all new market data services according to compliance standards
Perform hands-on product evaluations; evaluate new product versions and recommend upgrade decisions by writing up market data product reviews
Participate in ad-hoc market data projects
Formulate opinions on vendors and products
Education and Experience
BS/BA degree required
Minimum of 2 years experience utilizing vendor products and training end-users
Skills and Knowledge
Have knowledge of market data services and the financial services industry
Demonstrate a working knowledge and facility with investment software applications
Possess keen verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in a sophisticated professional financial services environment
Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational and research skills required
Possess the ability to handle several projects simultaneously in a demanding environment
You thrive in an environment with minimal direct supervision and a high degree of self-motivation
