ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Responsible for all market technical operations.

  • Responsible for integrity of stations' on-air and on-line products.

  • Manage and develop market capital projects.

  • Plan & develop all aspects of radio technical facilities, including on-air, telephone, satellite, STL, two-way systems, vehicles, computers and networks.

  • Select, install and maintain high-power transmitters and associated equipment; document all broadcast systems.

  • Purchase and maintain studio and transmitter equipment.

  • Handle telco and ISP problems and service calls; order services. Work with technicians to troubleshoot circuits; cross connect in-house circuits.

  • Review station logs weekly for FCC compliance.

  • Generator testing, fueling and supervision of maintenance. UPS testing and supervision of maintenance.

  • Supervise Broadcast Engineers, Technicians, IT Staff.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: 10+ years' experience in broadcast engineering including AM and FM broadcast transmission systems. Must understand FCC regulations and keep station(s) technically compliant. Vast knowledge of digital and analog studio equipment required. SBE Certification preferred; knowledge of CAD systems & techniques desirable. Valid state driver's license for operation of company vehicles is required. Personal vehicle is required for 24hr. response to emergencies. Management experience and/or training desirable: excellent customer service skills are required; must be extremely organized and detail-oriented. 4- year degree in related field preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Deputy Chief of Staff, University Governance is an executive staff position that reports directly to the President's Chief of Staff and the Board Chair. The Deputy Chief of Staff is responsible for managing university governance strategy and Board of Trustees operations in conjunction with the Board Chair, Board of Trustees, supporting the operations of the Office of General Counsel and President's office, including the Director of the Trustee Program. The Deputy Chief of Staff will serve alongside senior leadership, ensuring that the university governance goals and priorities are met, and that related programs and communications provide for a well-informed Board and university community. Responsibilities Include: Board Chair Responsibilities: * Work with the President, Board Chair, and committee Chairs to envision, develop, implement, and align university governance strategy and Board operations. * Work with the Board to develop objectives and support strategic priorities for the full Board, its committees, including key performance indicators and annual reporting. * Serve as the primary staff member for the Chair of the Board including staffing, the Chair's meeting preparation, and representation at official university meetings and functions. * Facilitate effective stakeholder communications in support of the Chair and the Board. * Support the work of Board Committees by developing agendas, facilitating information flow from relevant departments, and scheduling routine reports related to the Committee's function. * Keep Trustees informed through regular issue and university event briefings. * Draft strategic communications on behalf of the Trustees to the University community. * Direct planning for Board-related special events including the Annual Conference. * Work with Boards at Schools within the University to update their governing documents and align them to support the University's objectives. * Serve as a liaison to the Health Care System Board to support information flow and align priorities. Office of the President Responsibilities: * Participates in short and long-range planning for President's Office. Supervises subordinate staff and has responsibility for managing, planning, coordinating and implementing programs, projects, events, and activities for the president's office. * Reviews presidential communications (speeches, remarks, letters, articles, etc.) that are provided by Presidential Communications team to ensure that President's voice and vision are being properly communicated. Presents drafts to the Chief of Staff for final review. * Researches and drafts responses to communications received by the President's Office. Refers to President's direct reports for action, or refers to President for personal reply or to Chief of Staff for guidance. * Provides professional executive management services for the President and the Chief of Staff. Communicates relevant university matters to the Chief of Staff. * Develops, manages, plans, coordinates and organizes special and/or confidential projects and activities as directed by the President and Chief of Staff. * Researches, gathers, organizes and summarizes data for briefings and special projects.
