Position Overview

This position within the Technology Sector Analyst group is among a highly visible team of industry experts. Through industry speaking events, blogs, strategic engagements across our client organizations and a strong partnership with the B2B Technology Industry Adviser, the B2B analyst will play a role in helping elevate NPD's brand in the B2B Tech industry. Best-in-class analyses, thought-provoking content, and leading edge perspective will be the cornerstone of success for this position.

This position will be based in San Diego, CA or Port Washington, NY.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Showcase vast industry knowledge through advanced understanding of macro trends, channel strategy, product advancements, technology innovation and industry outlook.

  • Leverage analytical thinking to produce compelling and insightful data stories/analyses that support the activation and sales of B2B Technology data assets and Solutions.

  • Socialize NPD's data through deliverables providing value-added insights and applying overall industry perspective to NPD assets.

  • Create and present analyses that address specific client initiatives (pricing strategy, channel opportunity, etc.) inclusive of implications and recommendations for client action (and to build a road map to further opportunity).

Keys to Success:

  • In-depth industry, channel and product knowledge

  • Excellence in data manipulation and analysis

  • Proficiency in telling data stories (visually, written, verbally) inclusive of context, adjacent categories, deriving implications and next steps, etc.

  • Ability to challenge clients (up through the highest level of the organization) and to express a point of view on your industry of coverage

  • Engaging presenter capable of holding audience engagement, fielding and posing questions to understand the true client business issue, etc.

  • Ability to multi-task and work against and across multiple deadlines

  • Demonstrated excellence in DecisionKey and Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint)
