Market Access Lead

UCB's objective is to leverage our collective expertise and talents to penetrate payer accounts both deep and wide, to maximize value creation for patients.
The Access Accelerator is a market access and contracting expert who will have shared responsibility with the Patient Value Units (PVU) Ecosystem Leads (EL) to integrate and coordinate the members of the local ecosystem patient value squad and ensure access and affordability of UCB products with local payer accounts within their defined ecosystems.
Develop and define local strategic imperatives jointly with the Ecosystem Leads, focused on maximizing UCB Product access, affordability, and pull-through within the local ecosystem
Partner with PVU to drive towards local and value-based decisions
Support connectivity of local ecosystem PVU therapeutic influencers and population stakeholders with key payer decision makers to achieve UCB patient value strategies
Model strong squad teamwork and collaboration that contributes to achievement of shared objectives
Ensures UCB Operational Compliance to the highest professional standards.
Jointly develop ecosystem access strategy based on key insights and unique characteristics of the market to maximize patient value creation and advance PVU objectives
Work cross-functionally with ecosystem squad partners to develop shared strategic imperatives, and to make modifications when necessary to reflect new market insights or changes in market dynamics
Actively monitor and model a strong working knowledge of the evolution of the US healthcare delivery system as well as policy and political issues at the federal and state level impacting local healthcare ecosystems
Actively maintain a strong working knowledge of PVU products and marketing strategy and apply this knowledge to the execution of the shared strategic imperatives
Lead in contracting efforts with payers that reflects full alignment and strategic input from the entire squad
Coordinate the reimbursement and access approval process at designated payers, PBMs, IDNs ACOs, networks, and health systems
Lead from the front to ensure a culture of compliance in all initiatives and activities within the assigned markets
Drive progress checks across priority initiatives to provide support, direction, and/or course-correcting solutions.
Maintain joint accountability for the squad teams' strategic imperatives for defined ecosystem
Quarterly monitoring and reporting on performance versus strategic imperatives.
Jointly monitor and report on local ecosystem payer performance vs. expectations
Jointly ensure an exceptional experience for all key stakeholders establishing UCB as a preferred bio-pharma organization
Bachelors' degree in life sciences, business or healthcare required
Master's Degree preferred
7-10 years of healthcare related market access experience; sales leadership, marketing, or field medical experience
3+ years in key account management
Strong working knowledge of US Healthcare payer models both Health-plan and PBM inclusive of state Medicaid; Medicare Part D and B and commercial
Keen understanding of customers including business model, health economics and marketing strategy, medical and pharmacy reimbursement, population health, and value based care delivery models
Demonstrated experience and documented success leading multidisciplinary and/or matrixed teams
Market expertise in US Healthcare delivery systems
Demonstrated leadership skills in managing, developing, and influencing teams
Demonstrated strength in business planning, tactical plan development and execution
Deep understanding of local payer customer's architecture and functional infrastructure as well as key payer decision makers and stakeholders.
