Maritime Imagery Instructor and Trainer

Key Role:

Deliver in-resident and distance learning instructional programs in accordance with course requirements. Use instructional methods, including guided discussions, lectures, demonstrations, small group exercises, seminars, workshops, and laboratories. Employ instructional technology in instruction and training, including Blackboard. Conduct assessment strategy in accordance with course designs, including instructor observation, testing, grading, and providing formal and informal student feedback. Apply subject matter expertise throughout the curriculum creation process, including content review and feedback to development staff. Teach instructional courses and apply expertise in developing and delivering technical training and educational courses in academic, commercial, government, or industrial organizations. Leverage expertise in GEOINT sciences, technology, and data science.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience as a GEONT and GIS instructor or training, including acquiring, analyzing, and disseminating maritime safety information to populate and update nautical databases, charts, and publication

  • Experience in the government operating environment, including the IC or DoD

  • Knowledge of DoD obligations, federal and international laws, regulations, and national security

  • Knowledge of the application of GIS and analysis of geospatial data to solve intelligence problems that may face the DoD or intelligence community (IC)

  • Knowledge of GEOINT tradecraft, learning and instruction, and maritime analysis

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • BA or BS degree and 5 years of experience with instruction, science, or technology, MA or MS degree and 3 years of experience with instruction, science, and technology, or 20 years of experience with instruction, science, or technology in lieu of a degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience as an in-resident and distance learning instructor for a US government agency

  • MA or MS degree in Science, Mathematics, or Statistical Analysis

  • Course instruction or teaching certification

Other responsibilities include the implementation of staff education and professional development programs that ensure officer maintain required certifications. Acts in the role of a department trainer for last two phases of new hire training and for re-certification training for existing officers. Responsibilities Responds to emergency situations according to approved, established Security Department protocol.Completes routine patrol activities while being alert and attentive to the safety and welfare of visitors, patients, volunteers, staff, employees, and hospital property.Mentors officers in areas of job performance identified as needing improvement. Documents actions taken to address these identified areas. Conducts training for new hire officers in basic core tasks routinely assigned to Public Safety officers.Functions as a department resource trainer and conducts training necessary for officers to maintain mandated certification and licensing. Field trainer for officers when come out of Academy. Get every new hire for 10 day- shifts then officer goes to their specific shift for 5 additional days for OTJ training for their specific shift duties.Completes required documentation for all annual department training conducted. This includes certification, re-certification and in-service training courses for existing officers. Documents in detail all remedial training addressing officer deficiencies.
