Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Marine Senior Staff Accountant to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. This position is a hands-on analyst responsible for a variety of projects related to the Financial and Internal Reporting. This position will work with many levels of management throughout Yamaha Motor Corporation and Yamaha's external auditors.
What you'll be doing:
Provide financial variance reporting and analysis on a monthly, quarterly and semi-annual basis. Provide variance explanations and recommend corrective action.
Post month end accrual entries, provide posting work papers and justifications of accrual postings for all Marine Product lines.
Provide benchmark data and projected financial assumptions for input and communicate assumptions and findings to Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Dept. Provide completed reports to management. Calculate, analyze and recommend budget projections. Verify calculation accuracy for Marine group, boat companies and MRP including but is not limited to profitability analysis, scenario modeling.
Support more senior level Accountants in developing basic reports (i.e., profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, etc.).
Support operational staff with paperwork, guidance and assistance. Tracking CapEx, intercompany expenses, expense reclasses, process AFEs, support Bennett Trim Tab payments, etc.
Collect, compile, and record financial and statistical data in the preparation of accounting statements report to senior management.
May record account adjustments and account receipts as received. Perform accounts payable and receivable activities.
Special projects as requested.
Decision-Making Responsibility:
What you need to be successful:
5-7 years of accounting experience
Experience in both public and private accounting
BS in Accounting
SAP knowledge required. SAP (S4/HANA or R3 and BI) knowledge preferred.
Strong proficiency in MS Office, and accounting software
Strong working knowledge of Excel, pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.
CPA preferred.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience directing and working with outside audit team during quarterly reporting and fiscal year end close.
Strong Power Point skills to enable Analyst to create Executive Level presentations timely.
Must be highly motivated, pro-active and improvement focused, while maintaining a high-quality work product. Adaptability will be a key attribute for success in this position.
Experienced in Budget vs. Actual variance analysis and formal written communication of variances to Senior Management.
Ability to present or communicate effectively to all levels of management.
Financial analysis on monthly results performed accurately, timely and with a high-quality work product for Management.
Minimal travel may be required, approximately less than 5%.
