This role is customer-focused and will be providingtechnical support in marine applications. This Marine Field Technicianopportunity is your starting spot for multiple career paths within our Servicebusiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosesand completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer's site.

  • Engagescustomers in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Anticipatesand ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

  • Appliesthe use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies todiagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparingrequired parts and tools.

  • Performspreventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standardson engine and related components in the field.

  • Escalatesunresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/orSupervisor.

  • Completesrequired documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warrantyclaims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system inputscreens.

  • Identifiesadditional service opportunities with customer.

  • Completestraining in line with skill and business requirements.

  • Maintainsservice vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

  • Ensureadherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies,procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to sitemanagement and to their supervisor.

  • Travelto customer sites, both domestically and internationally, to diagnose andservice marine applications

Skills

  • Ableto fully use all required Cummins service tools including Insite, EDS, QuickServe On Line

  • Familiarwith basic warranty/policy terms

  • Capableof developing collaborative working relationships

  • Ableto identify opportunities for work process improvements

  • Canresolve common technical problems

  • Abilityto carry out full diagnostics using Cummins diagnostic tools on differentproduct types without supervision

  • Indepth mechanical repair and maintenance capability to carry out external enginerepairs including fuel system components without supervision

  • Abilityto develop and maintain productive customer relationships and educatingcustomers on operations and maintenance of products

  • Abilityto identify and up sell further service and repair opportunities

Education, Licenses,Certifications

  • Highschool diploma required

  • ApprenticeTrained Engine Technician preferred

  • Vocational diploma from relevant technicalinstitution preferred

  • Locally valid driving permit required

Experience

  • Basiclevel field service work experience required

  • Technicalexperience in the marine industry required

  • Intermediatelevel knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

  • Customerservice experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Standing 7.5 hours perday, Pushing/Pulling 4.0 hours per day., Sitting 1.5 hours per day, Lifting 1.5hours per day, Lifting up to a maximum of 80 pounds, Bending 3.0 hours per dayand, Driving 1.5 hours per day.
