Marine Boat Mechanic

On behalf of our client, BBSI is looking for a new team member!

We are looking for a reliable, self-assured Marine Service Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of marine watercraft. Our ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and strong self-discipline. An outstanding marine service technician demonstrates great hand-eye coordination and should be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning, repairing, and maintaining all parts of the boat or vessel.

• Reading through repair and installation orders to determine the material, time and equipment required.

• Work closely with shop manager and other certified technicians

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, service and maintain marine engines and drivetrains

• Launch and operate a boat for test run

• Air and power tool use

• Use diagnostic tools to solve electrical and mechanical faults

• Install custom accessories, towers, fish finders and trolling motors

• Preventative maintenance- tune ups, oil changes

• Maintain accurate records and logs of all work carried out

Job Requirements:

• Experience as an automotive or marine/technician for a minimum of 2 years (willing to train the right candidate)

• Excellent communication skills in order to interact effectively with customers and colleagues

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents

• Team player that maintains a clean workspace

• Efficiently troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all makes of boats and electrical components

• Experience performing gas engine and electrical repair

• Experience rigging and wiring boats

• Must be willing to learn new technologies and repair techniques

• Must have tools, drivers license, and transportation to and from work

• Provide your own basic tools (specialty tools will be supplied)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Compensation package:

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

• Monday to Friday

• No weekends
