Summary

Greet customers upon entry, present the menu and any specialty items to the guest, and actively participate in special events hosted at the (Insert Outlet). Responsible for providing professional and courteous service to all owners and all guests that visit the Resort.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1.Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
2.Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
3.Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
4.Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving.
5.Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
6.Totals bill and accepts payment from guest.
7.Clears and resets tables at conclusion of each course.
8.Performs opening and closing side work as prescribed by outlet manager or supervisor.
9.Employs active up-selling techniques during every ordering opportunity.
10. Closing, bussing and dishwashing duties required.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be at least 18 years of age due to State Laws. Two years' experience in full service bar/restaurant operation. Detailed knowledge of menu and any known allergies associated with the different dishes. Knowledge of proper serving techniques and etiquette. Customer Service oriented.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Availability

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is open and operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

The desired cook candidate will have hotel cooking experience and a culinary degree. The Cook (Culinary II) should have a professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures. Intermediate cook will work single stations in the kitchen and require significant supervision and training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Prepare cold side appetizers & plate desserts * Setting up station in preparation for work shift * Become familiar with the kitchen, staff & menu * Cooking products according to preparation requests and plating guides. * Ensuring all work area is properly set up and organized and clean. * Processes vegetables for station prep and service. * Aids in pastry prep when needed * Follows outlined recipes and plating guides to provide consistent product * Monitor and enforce proper safety and hygiene practices. * Observes and tests foods being cooked by taste, smell, sight, and texture. * Looks for ways to improve and promote quality. * Assists in daily prep for all stations. * Responsible for the organization and rotation of walk-ins and freezers * Works for ways to become more efficient * Other duties as assigned.
