POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical Lab Instructors at the University of Providence, School of Health Professions, play a pivotal role in delivering quality clinical education to students enrolled in Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and Nursing programs. These instructors serve as leaders, educators, advisors, and facilitators within the clinical lab environment, contributing to the preparation of students who are competent and confident in their clinical skills. Reporting to the Program Director, Clinical Lab Instructors work on a contractual basis for specific hours allocated to clinical courses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Foster a positive and high-quality learning environment conducive to teaching, mentoring, coaching, and facilitating national clinical standards in the clinical skills lab.
Serve as role models and mentors, demonstrating excellence within the scope of practice.
Ensure learner satisfaction and achievement of program and clinical learning outcomes through effective clinical teaching.
Participate actively in the design, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of clinical student and skills lab courses.
Coordinate, deliver, set up, and clean up the clinical lab, including managing university supplies and equipment.
Utilize a personal laptop with Wi-Fi access to enter the University's learning management system and other academic software programs.
Contribute to School of Health Professions committees and program advisory boards as required.
Fulfill teaching responsibilities in compliance with employment agreements, University policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, and relevant state laws and regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Medical Assistant Clinical Lab Instructor:
Minimum Education: Associate degree in Allied Health (clinical, science, etc.)
Pharmacy Technician Clinical Lab Instructor:
Minimum Education: Associate degree (AS or AAS) in Pharmacy Technician
Experience: 3 years' experience in pharmacy technician role
Certification: Current national certification as a Pharmacy Technician
Licensure: Appropriate state licensure or registration as a Pharmacy Technician

Previous experience as a Clinical Lab Instructor with online teaching instruction in a related healthcare field.
Experience in developing clinical lab skills curriculum, including online curriculum, and documented experience in program evaluation.
