Location Profile:

Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries. Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2" OD 100" OD.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for directing and supervising machinists in a machine shop while being accountable for daily production, productivity, and quality metrics (and troubleshooting any problems related to these metrics), as well as general housekeeping conditions (6S initiatives), while ensuring all safety and quality goals are met.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment interaction

  • Conduct daily standup meetings to team relaying previous day business performance, daily goals & objectives, safety topics and other general business information

  • Ensure consistent quality standards and operational procedures throughout manufacturing process

  • Foster an environment of positive employee relations with open communication channels and employee involvement

  • Proactively cooperate between departments and share resources when needed to meet plant goals and objectives

  • Actively identify and eliminate any potential bottlenecks, including personnel and equipment

  • Effectively plan manpower and overtime to ensure deliveries are met

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment

  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools and effectively develop a continuous improvement culture that focuses on waste reduction in all manufacturing processes

  • Facilitate cross training of employees for maximum equipment utilization, employee productivity and overall business flexibility

  • Ensure compliance with all manufacturing, quality and safety procedures

  • Submit near misses and accident reports within expected timeframes from occurrence

  • Submit necessary reports to respective departments for nonconforming parts

  • Perform root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions for process defects

  • Generate, update, and analyze critical-to-business metrics such as earned standard hours (ESH),productivity, machine utilization graphs, recovery plans, headcount manpower models, etc.

  • Attend shift hand-over meetings for other supervisors and staff

  • Promote multi-manning concept to increase equipment utilization

  • Conduct daily GEMBA walks with Team Leads

  • Promote good housekeeping practices

  • Perform weekly safety inspections and participate in safety training

  • Comply with corporate guidelines and legal requirements on business ethics

  • Performs other related duties as required

Experience & Education

  • Ability to work permanently in the United States is required.

  • Associates degree in science, technology, engineering, math, or other technical field is required, or equivalent level of course/credit hours completed is required.

  • Bachelors degree in technical field is preferred.

  • 2+ year experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment is required.

  • Machine shop experience is preferred.

  • Experience AS9100 or ISO9001 manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Previous supervisor experience is preferred.

VIEW JOBS 12/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-09T00:00 Description: Within a full-service Diagnostic Imaging Department, supervises the daily activities, patient flow, operations, clinical procedures and performance of Diagnostic Imaging Technologists on a regularly scheduled shift for an assigned work area/unit such as, but not limited to, diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, contract studies, special procedures, mammography, computed tomography, ultrasound, MRI. Integrates assigned areas/units administrative and clinical services, processes and procedures with departmental and organizational business goals/objectives. Essential Functions: * Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws. * Schedules Technologists and patients/exams/procedures and assigns daily work; reviews clinical tests, documentation, records and procedures for quality and in assigned area monitors work and clinical processes, procedures and systems to ensure quality, patient care and clinical standards/goals are achieved. * Assists in the design and implementation and improvement of a department-wide quality management/assurance program. * Supervises daily work procedures and performance of D.I. Technologists; monitors and reviews performance of staff and participates in formal performance evaluation procedure with appropriate departmental manager. * Quality checks radiographs/film for diagnostic quality. * Analyzes D.I. Technology administrative and clinical procedures, processes and systems in terms of quality, cost, efficiency and productivity metrics and makes appropriate recommendations to modify/improve. Implements/monitors policies, procedures standards and clinical protocols in order to ensure quality patient care; monitors and reports compliance on an on-going basis; ensures compliance with TJC, NCQA, MQSA, and other applicable local, state and national standards, requirements and regulations. * Addresses and resolves patient complaints/issues. * Ensures that supplies, tech and radiation generating equipment are utilized safely and in accordance with all departmental, organizational, local, state and federal radiation control/safety/protection requirements. * Implements and monitors radiation safety program in order to minimize radiation exposure and prevent unnecessary exposure; conducts regular and special radiation surveys in accordance with local, state and federal requirements. * Develops timely and accurate work load, statistical and operating reports and makes appropriate recommendations to improve productivity and utilization of staff, equipment and materials. Resolves on a first level human resources and labor relations issues. * Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed. Basic Qualifications: Experience * Minimum three (3) years of relevant clinical experience as a staff technologist in an acute care hospital. Education * Associate of arts or science degree in radiologic technology diagnostic ultrasound from an AMA approved school OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field. * High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration * Certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Certification by the State of California Department of Public Health (CDPH) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT-N) or certification by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist required. Specific certification in any of the above disciplines maybe required as determined by the hiring manager.
