The scope of the Assembly Planning Specialist will be to manage projects in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives.
The role and responsibilities are comprised of the following, including but not limited to:
Maintenance and Production support
Develop the production process to ensure processes meet safety standards, quality standards, environmental, and OSHA regulations
Create a continuous improvement environment to develop best in class production system
Coordinate production trials
Coordinate activities with the maintenance team to minimize production delays due to equipment issues
Develop systems to meet KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and analyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements
Identify requirements for maintenance and production resources to modify assembly systems to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost
Monitor safety, quality, cost, and productivity with improvement activities for assigned areas of production
Lead and complete projects on schedule and within the annual operational and capital budgets
Provide direction and assistance to analyze production issues, propose countermeasures, and resolve issues.
Lead and drive problem solving activates in regard to process and machine issues
Collaborate with other production departments, quality, production control, and engineering to provide best in class product quality
Work Schedule
Work schedule will vary based on project progress and initiatives (typically Mon thru Fri).
Potential to work on Off-shifts, Weekend, and Plant Shutdown(s).
Holiday Structure: MLK day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Shutdown(s).
12 days PTO per calendar year (96 hours).
Required Qualifications
4-year Engineering degree
3-5 years job related experience, automotive experience preferred
Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer
Positive employee relations/team building
Lean/visual systems
Continuous improvement
Project Management
Vendor Management
Ergonomic evaluations
Quality circles
Part delivery system development
CAD assembly simulation
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred
ERP/MRP/EDI System Knowledge
Implementation of engineering changes
Maintenance system development/management
Jig and Fixture development
Robotic integration
PLC programming
Assembly torque tools
MicroStation or Catia design
Ergonomic assist development
Automotive facility start-up
External logistics coordination
Automotive manufacturing experience
