Your Role: This role is involved in the manufacturing of API's by consistently following approved manufacturing procedures and documents. They are responsible for safely executing manufacturing processes, following detailed cleaning procedures, and ensure the accuracy of documentation within the local quality system.

Essential Job Function

  • Assist Chemists and Technician 3 and 4 with gathering and setting up the equipment

  • Perform and lead shifts of production operations per approved manufacuring procedures

  • Update equipment operating procedures

  • Review logbooks for accuracy

  • Dispose production wastes according to departmental protocols

  • Perform finishing services (grinding, sieving, etc.) on finished products prior to packaging of bulk

  • Ensure Good Documentation Practices are followed

  • Clean equipment according to protocols written in accordance to a Verified/Validated Cleaning system

  • Maintain facility in audit ready condition at all times

  • Receive raw materials, place into proper storage location, and label as needed

  • Perform misc. tasks including mail pick-up, deliver samples to QC, deliver batch records to QA, monthly safety audits, etc.

  • Perform finishing services (grinding, sieving, etc.) on finished products prior to packaging of bulk

  • Support raw material testing as directed by local quality system program

  • Participate in all required safety and quality training

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with 12+ semester hours of college chemistry or related sciences or greater than 2 yrs experience in a similar production environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to work production shift work, 8-12 hour roating shift schedule working various days and nights of the week.

  • Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds while wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators, for an extended time.

  • Customer and regulatory interaction potentially elevates the responsibilities of this position.

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment supporting multiple variants across the TACAIR portfolio including F/A-18, F-15, AV-8 and T-45 and have responsibility for generating and updating the technical data packages for use in the proposal phase as well as manufacturing execution (internal and external). Position will require a thorough understanding of manufacturing capability and will be providing engineering expertise on spares configuration definition. This position reports up through the Engineering Modifications and Maintenance Capability within BGS. Responsibilities: * Work in a cross-functional work environment including design, quality, product support, supplier management, program management and manufacturing. * Analyze design/build concepts for a producible definition and investigate alternative solutions to meet producibility requirements * Coordinate spare part make/buy decisions * Provide manufacturing engineering expertise and support for proposal efforts. * Build and revise technical data packages for use by suppliers. * Coordinate spare configuration definition with current production offerings * Resolve technical problems that would significantly affect performance, cost, or schedule. * Review tooling requirements and resolve tooling issues including development of alternative tooling for low volume spare fabrication Division Engineering Mods & Maintenance Relocation Assistance Available No. Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit. Qualifications This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Basic Requirements * Knowledge of manufacturing methods, fabrication and assembly processes * Technical experience with emphasis in aircraft part fabrication, repairs, or modification programs. Desired Experience * Experience participating on multi-skilled teams across functional boundaries desired * Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects and programs Typical Education & Experience: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
