About the Role
Magna Seating Chemical Technologies is a Manufacturing/R&D division in Swanton, Ohio that specializes in Polyurethane development and Chemical Blending for automotive applications.
This role is responsible to setup, operate, maintain and trouble shoot Production and R&D equipment/tools for the manufacturing of Polyurethane prototypes and Production chemical systems.
Your Responsibilities
Setup, operate and maintain various Polyurethane equipment and instruments for Prototype and limited Production parts
Trouble shoot prototype issues and minor equipment repairs
Work with team to communicate/implement continuous improvements for equipment, process and tooling
Participate in startup, changeover, and shutdown of R&D and Facility equipment
Daily/Weekly checks on Foam equipment operation and parameters with moderate computer use
Manage non-complex Preventative Maintenance Program and perform basic activities
Participate in energy reduction initiatives
Hands on with Proficiency in mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Diagnose process problems, replace parts as required, test and make adjustments
Infrequent use of lifting devices and Forklift to move equipment/tools/material
Ensure conformance to Health and Safety Standards
Other duties as assigned
Your preferred qualifications
Education
Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills
Polyurethane manufacturing experience an asset
Chemical blending experience an asset
Automotive industry experience also desired.
Basic computer skills
Ability to read instructions and provide documentation of daily activities
Good communications skills
Familiarity with process equipment (robotics, hydraulics, spray equipment, pumps, etc.) and a strong ability to solve problems
Formal industrial machine repair, maintenance, and/or education is a plus
