The Manufacturing Technician III is trained and proficient in many areas of the production floor. The position requires assembly, testing, calibration, and basic troubleshooting knowledge. The Manufacturing Technician III will work in close collaboration with other members of the manufacturing team to ensure a consistently high level of quality and productivity. This position will work onsite at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon.

Manufacturing Technician III Job Duties:

  • Perform electro-mechanical assemblies using BKM (Best known method) assembly instruction

  • Document and create BKM based on existing assembly process and support manufacturing engineer on continued process improvement including cycle time/takt time reduction

  • Understand Lean manufacturing process and support implementation

  • Able to read and interpret manufacturing documentation including drawings, schematics, P&ID, BOM (Bill of material), wiring diagram, and BKM

  • Proficient in NCM (Non-conforming material) process and disposition

  • Support and manage inventory control and workflow management

  • Update the ERP/electronic manufacturing tracking system and report assembly progress as well as RMA progress to the production manager

  • Assist the manufacturing manager in developing and implementing appropriate systems to measure department efficiencies, product quality, and performance

  • Perform in process inspection as well as final inspection

  • Perform final system Q.A. test and calibration

  • Report and troubleshoot any problems per established company manufacturing guidelines with lead and engineering assistance

  • Responsible for individual station record keeping, cleanliness, and adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelines

  • Take direction from the direct manager/supervisor to execute production and shipment priorities and resource alignment

  • Escalate any manufacturing related issues to direct manager/supervisor and seek a short term and long-term solution to all open action items or issues

  • Monitor production throughput and close out all open production orders based on monthly production plan

  • Work directly with shipping logistics and procurement to monitor material shortage issues and escalate immediately to minimize production delays if necessary

  • Perform focus driven execution without interruption and meet compressed schedule deadlines

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years of electromechanical integration and testing

  • Associate degree in manufacturing, machine technology, electro-mechanical integration is a plus

  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience

  • Experience with implementation of corrective action programs

  • Product or industry-specific experience

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office product

  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of manufacturing QA

  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant certifications preferred in Quality Auditor, Quality Improvement Associate, Six Sigma

Physical Requirements and working conditions:

  • Work involves sitting, walking, standing, bending, and throughout the day

  • Must be able to wear proper arc flash rated PPE along with standard PPE requirements

  • Must be able to climb ladders to perform work when needed

  • Lifting up to 25 pounds

  • Requires close visual acuity and ability to distinguish colors

  • Warehouse and office environments

Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
