  • Friday from 11:00pm to 7:10am with availability to rotate weekends as needed.

What does a Manufacturing Technician do?

As a Manufacturing Technician at EBW Electronics, your primary responsibility will be to provide essential technical support to all production equipment and machinery on the plant floor. You will play a key role in installing, troubleshooting, programming, and repairing any issues that may arise with the equipment, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing maintenance support to keep the production line running efficiently.

Requirements for this Manufacturing Technician

  • 3rd shift position

Successful candidates for the Manufacturing Technician position at EBW Electronics must possess a strong skill set to excel in the role. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, power supplies, and test equipment, is essential. The ability to conduct routine preventive maintenance according to checklists to ensure operational efficiency is crucial. Candidates should be adept at installing, starting up, and shutting down equipment following safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

Strong mechanical diagnostic skills are required to identify and rectify equipment issues promptly. Effective communication skills are necessary to train and guide operators on safety procedures and equipment operations. Additionally, the ability to maintain accurate maintenance records, collaborate with vendors for repairs, inspect machinery, and fabricate machine parts will be valued in this role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance in accordance with checklists to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently.

  • Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.

  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, and record maintenance and repair work performed.

  • Train and advise operators and technicians on operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.

  • Inform appropriate management of potential electrical/mechanical safety problems and inherent dangers involved.

  • Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.

  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools.

  • Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components.

  • Coordinate with Vendor's on necessary outside repairs and new equipment needs and submit purchase orders as needed.

  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.

  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.

  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

  • Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • A two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is preferred.

  • Position requires at least 2 years of experience as a maintenance worker in a manufacturing setting.

  • At least 2 years' experience in technical manufacturing role preferred.

  • Experience with SMT related equipment and electronic manufacturing preferred

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
