POSITION SUMMARY

The manufacturing technician is an integral part of the overall process required to convert human plasma to injectable protein therapies. The technician is responsible for the set-up, operation and cleaning of various types of process equipment utilized to separate, purify, fill, inspect and package the protein products manufactured by Grifols.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for equipment setup and operation in a biologics processing environment for plasma derived pharmaceuticals.

  • Strict adherence to procedures and practices according to FDA regulations.

  • Strong emphasis on documentation according to FDA regulations.

  • Adhere to departmental corporate safety policies.

  • Responsible for facility and equipment cleaning.

  • Visually inspect filled glass vials for particulate presence and glass defects.

  • Manually place materials into a carton or box on an assembly line.

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree, applicable certification, and/or military veterans preferred.

  • Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in a team environment.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Must be flexible with working hours / shifts in order to accommodate the 24 hour, 7 day plant operation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift /move up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods - up to four (4) hours at a time.

  • Manual dexterity to perform all job functions.

  • Exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals and biological hazards.

  • Must have 20/20 vision, or correctable to 20/20 vision.

  • Must have color perception/discrimination for inspection.

Under the direction of the Plant Controller, applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.     RESPONSIBILITIES: * Analyzes daily production * Maintains parts files; creates new bill of material and updates finished good parts file.  Updates costs as needed. * Analyzes, and accounts all variances, which affect the plant * Prepares daily or weekly reports of variances, which enable plant management to “manage” the plant * Analyzes outside warehouse inventory levels * Maintains standards.  Helps control and maintain part and labor standards.  Established costs and inputs bill of material. * Assist with budget process * Serves as back-up for Accounts Payable * Balance sheet account reconciliation * Processes timekeeping records for payroll * Assists Plant Controller with Government reports, taxes, insurance, capital requests and other special projects * Provides direct supervision to subordinates, including making hiring/firing decisions, providing training and development opportunities, and conducting performance reviews and coaching sessions * Other duties as assigned * Responsible for reporting daily inventory Key Performance Indicators * Perform analytical review of financial results and understand factors driving variance * Is responsible for all inventory transactions at the plant. * Daily verification of production postings to insure proper inventory is reported. * To research any discrepancies in regards to lot locations.   * To insure that inventory is correct at all times. * To track low code products and notify management of low code items. * Conduct physical inventory when the required monthly inventories are required by corporate. * Keep Plant Controller, Logistics Manager and Plant Manager informed of any inventory issues. * Analyzes outside warehouse inventory levels.  * Analyzes all inventory variances and reports them to plant Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university * 1 -2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:          Knowledge: * Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data   * Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology * Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process *          Skills: * Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems * Computer literate with a strong background in spreadsheet programs * Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times * Using mathematics to solve problems *          Reasoning Abilities: * Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. * Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  * Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public * management.   Danone North America is a Certified B Corporation business unit of Danone and operates in the U.S. from headquarter offices in White Plains, NY and Broomfield, CO. For more information, please visit DanoneNorthAmerica.com.
