We are seeking an off shift Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Newtown, CT where we finish wafer tables for use in the semiconductor industry. This role sets up and utilizes specialized equipment to precision finish our unique materials. We provide training to operate within tight tolerances as well as offer competitive pay and full benefits.
2nd Shift Hours: Mon-Fri 3:00pm-11:30pm
3rd Shift Hours Sun-Thurs 11:00pm-7:30am
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Operate Lapping/Ring Lapping equipment, complete Assemblies and Sub-assemblies, operate precision measuring equipment, complete fine cleaning and complete Clean Room tasks
Bond and assemble small components and assemblies
Clean and inspect components and assemblies
Lap components to sub-micron flatness
Evaluate procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to production
Perform scheduled inspection of work (including documentation of results) and verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications
Confer with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve issues
Maintain safe, clean, orderly and organized work areas
Accurate and timely completion and organization of required paperwork
Perform all other duties, as assigned
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
2+ years relative experience with clean room operations, interferometer equipment, lapping equipment and precision measuring equipment
Experience with precision measurement methods and systems
Experience with manufacturing process improvement initiatives
Skills
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and process procedures
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement
Experience with networked PC based computer system (spreadsheets, Email, MRP systems)
Good manual dexterity; fine motor skills - able to manipulate small components
Clean and organized
Patient and conscientious.
Metrology: Must be skilled in the use of hand and electronic gauging (inspection less than .0001 inches) and other electronic equipment
Able to get along well with others
Able to work overtime, as required
Ability to work in a cross-cultural, team based environment
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements
Ability to frequently lift/push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds
Able to sit, stand, bend, squat and walk about the facility
Walking/standing a minimum of 8 hours per day
Safety Requirements
