Qorvo is currently seeking a Developer to join its Greensboro, NC Wafer Fabrication facility Manufacturing Systems and Automation team. This is an exciting, multidimensional role and opportunity for growth within an experienced, high-performance IT group which designs, develops and supports semiconductor manufacturing systems for Qorvo, a rapidly growing technology company supplying components to the wireless and communications industries.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with experience in Software Development processes, programming, project management, and business process analysis. In addition, strong problem solving, verbal and written communication, inter-group coordination, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills are required. Software development and troubleshooting are the primary focus, but experienced developers will help shape the architecture of the affected manufacturing systems.
Accepts project coordination, technical direction and mentoring from lead Manufacturing Execution Systems team members and assists with functional areas to determine requirements to meet client business area expectations.
Acquires, masters and retains subject matter expertise of the existing suite of Wafer Fabrication site Manufacturing Execution System applications and services.
Maintains complex client server, web applications and processes in manufacturing and engineering environments for Microsoft Windows operating environments in alignment with tactical and strategic needs.
Provides very responsive engagement and ongoing production support in conjunction with team members as and when necessary in an "on call" flexible work environment across all system platforms of involvement and knowledge to serve all tactical and sustaining needs of a high volume 24x7 factory.
Plans, designs, develops, tests, tunes, maintains, and documents software programs and platforms.
Adheres to coding standards, pattern-based development principles and participates in coding review to help maintain and preserve established, best practices coding outcomes.
Produces detailed specifications from provided architectural concepts and design direction and produces necessary test evidence for user acceptance testing hand off.
Implements integration solutions for disparate systems and assists in consultations with other departments for the selection and use of programming and productivity tools.
Maintains awareness of technology trends and identifies rationalized opportunities for recommendation and potential assimilation into existing systems solutions while prioritizing stability and consistency.
There will be an initial focus on at least one factory Automation related project in addition to the initial Manufacturing Execution Systems scope of involvement with opportunities to exercise and/or grow pertinent related skillset. As factory Automation needs continue to evolve towards increasing scope and importance, there will be a gradual emphasis on the following:
Works with team members and Factory representatives to design, develop, deploy, and sustain integration software between manufacturing equipment and the rest of the Manufacturing IT Systems architecture. Implicit in this is a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process and the other Manufacturing Execution Systems components so that designs reflect the best use of existing technology and business processes.
Leverages current applicable skillsets and extensions to them where necessary towards integrating manufacturing tools with the Manufacturing Execution Systems.
Works with the tool owners, process owners, and manufacturing associates to determine what automation is required and how to best provide the solution.
Interactions with equipment toolsets including (but not limited to) Photo, Etch, Diffusion, Implant and Metrology.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of and with Windows platform systems development using VB.Net, ASP.Net, SQL, HTML, MS SQL Server
Awareness/understanding of or comfort/experience with Classic ASP, Visual Basic, VB Scripting or related/similar within context of newer corresponding technologies

Direct experience with manufacturing systems, especially within the semiconductor manufacturing industry is a plus
Direct experience with equipment level semiconductor automation initiatives and related technologies are also a plus.

Ability to compare log file contents to source code flow to determine root causes of failures
Developing, testing and deploying automation software Providing support of delivered automation software
Developing code modules within a predefined frame work (top level vs. override) for automation processes
Automation documentation and project planning
Developing utilities and scripts to automate the sustaining and reporting processes
