REI, is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to support our Thermal Face Coating department in Lawrenceville, GA, to oversee the daily work activities of production operators and maintain daily production records and progress reports. In this fast-paced environment, the Manufacturing Supervisor will be challenged with organizing and assigning work to ensure it is completed safely in accordance with internally established procedures and quality standards, using good management practices in order to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities include

Manufacturing Supervisor's responsibilities will be:

  • Model the "safety first" behaviors we expect of all employees by ensuring that operational procedures and processes are performed safely and provide a safe work environment.

  • Plan daily operations and make routine adjustments to work assignments, production processes, and equipment to meet production schedules and targets.

  • Participate in the investigation of production problems and/or product quality issues, collaborating with Maintenance, Engineering and QC.

  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new products into production, including monitoring process and gathering data on results.

  • Supervise the work performance of hourly employees, which includes giving daily work direction, training and coaching for development, conducting performance evaluations, monitoring attendance, and administering disciplinary action as needed.

  • Conduct tours of production area to provide management support for problem resolution and policy compliance, and ensure work instructions, company policies, quality and safety standards are followed at all times.

  • Perform a variety of administrative duties which include developing procedures, forms, and presentations; generating daily production and quality reports and statistics; reconciling inventory; and promoting and guiding employees' participation in Kaizen, safety circle, and 5S activities.

Qualified candidates will possess


Manufacturing Supervisor's

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years' supervisory experience in a continuous processing manufacturing environment required.

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Experience leading a team of 10+ operators highly preferred.

  • Experience in thermal ribbon, slitting, chemical applications, paper applications and/or high-speed, continuous manufacturing operations required

  • Experience with continuous improvement/process improvement teams preferred.

  • Must have good problem-solving/troubleshooting and communication (verbal and written) skills, along with demonstrated positive leadership skills with experience in team building/motivating practices to support company initiatives.

  • Must have working knowledge of manufacturing operations processes and procedures, along with attention to detail and good math skills to calculate yields, variances, material and labor costs.

  • Good project management and multi-tasking skills required

  • Must have MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills at intermediate level AA/M/F/VETERANS/Individuals with Disabilities, EOE, Drug-Free Workplace

Entry-level associates are responsible for performing any of the various tasks within the finish or surface departments, or other assigned areas within our lab. General Summary: Entry-level associates responsible for assigned tasks in processing orders through the lab. What would you do? – The Specifics Finish department includes: * Deblock – Placed padded block in deblocker and remove block from lens. * Block – Scan barcode on tray. Place padded block in liner, place lens in liner and line appropriately. * Edging – Scan barcode, chuck lens in edger and push start. * Safety Bevel – Roll edges on bevel wheel to eliminate sharpness. * Wash – After loading wash racks, place in ultrasonic for 1 minute, quick rinse, then final rinse. * Insert Lens into Frames – Metal Frame : remove screw, insert lens, replace screw. Zyle Frame: heat frame to expand and insert lens. * Inspection – Check lens for defects, pits, scars. Place lens in topcon. Check for correct power, axis, prism, etc. * Hand Bevel – Edge lens down by hand to reduce size. Take out starts and chips, roll edges. * Safety Stamp – Place lens on appropriate stamp and push down. * Sort Trays – Sort trays for appropriate areas at edging, deblocking, beveling, tinting and insertion * Tint – Place lens in lens holder and tint to specified color. Surface department includes: * Backside Coating – Make sure lens is clean, spray lens with alcohol, wipes it and loads it into machines. * Blocking – Inspects lens, chooses right color block, lines up lens on grid, and puts lens in correct tray. * Generating – Scans trays, loads correct (R or L) lens into a chuck, presses start, then puts lens in correct tray. * Lens Washing – Takes lens off block, rinses lens, washes and dries lens to remove debris from lens. * Polishing – Loads lenses into chuck, press start, machine will polish lens for clarity. * Tool pulling – Pulls tools off a rack and puts them into a tray. * Fining – Places tools on machine, puts in corresponding fining pad, places lens on machine and sands the lens. * Taping – Places lens in machine, machine tapes lenses and then takes lens out. * Beveling – Bevels lenses to remove sharp edges. * Block prep – Peels wax off block, sort blocks in baskets, dry wax, clean and air dry blocks. * Pad Peeling – Peels pads off after fining, puts on polish pads, helps take jobs off polishers, and helps with tools. * Deblocking – Separates the free-bond or alloy base holding device from each lens.
