Title: Manufacturing Supervisor
The Manufacturing Supervisor shall be responsible for all manufacturing activities in their assigned department. The duties shall include but not be limited to the following:
Responsible for direction and supervision of assigned department.
Conducts interviews and selects competent personnel for hire; documents all interviews on interview sheet form.
Adhere to all company Policies and Procedures and actively promotes Continuous Improvement and its activities and services to others. Coordinates with the other shifts to assure appropriate information flow and understanding of overall process improvement direction. Attend stand up meeting.
Responsible for controlling inventory.
Work from production orders, schedules, drawings, pull systems, supermarkets, and related data to plan and arrange daily work of their department for the most effective and efficient use of personnel and meet production requirements. Arrange for tools, equipment, supplies and material to be available for work assignments.
Follow progress of work, check efficiencies of employees, instruct and/or reassign personnel, as necessary, to obtain optimum flow of work. Anticipate or investigate cause of delay or inadequate performance; take corrective action within limits of established practice.
Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Ensure employees are up to date with safety training. Report, fix or eliminate safety hazards.
Maintain continuing surveillance of personnel to control quality and quality standard levels consistent with good manufacturing practice: take prompt action to correct deviations.
Maintain required employee records such as overtime, vacation days, personal days, early quits, late starts, and lost time.
Communicate with the other shift supervisors all information needed to ensure of a smooth transition between shifts.
Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
AS Degree in a technical field or equivalent related experience.
Accept direction and projects from Manufacturing Manager and/or Plant Manager.
Maintain cooperative and open communication with all personnel and departments.
Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Poses the ability to interpret a variety of instructions that are furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Proficient with computers; Microsoft Office Suite a plus.
Be able to perform duties in an ever-changing fast paced environment.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Plant Manager.
