Position Summary

The successful candidate will work in a machine shop operating CNC mills, lathes, grinders etc. The candidate is responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget. The candidate follows written work instructions, works under minimal supervision and must be a team player with good communication

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

  • US Citizenship required

  • High School or GED equivalency

  • 2+ years of experience in specialty area e.g. machine shop, tool making, etc. (or equivalent education/ experience in the field or in a related area).

Desired Skills

  • AS Degree or Trade school

  • Computer skills

  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

  • Computer literacy and mechanical inclination

  • The ability to work in a machine shop environment with proper PPE.

  • Must be a team player

  • Previous DRS experience will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate CNC Mill, Lathe, and grinders

  • Familiar with close tolerances utilizing micrometers, dial indicators, Rings and Pins, and Height gauges.

  • Work with various materials: plastic, steel, aluminum, titanium

Physical Conditions

  • Lifting 25 lbs.

  • Standing 75%

  • Sitting 25%

  • Flexibility in schedule to work OT

Working Conditions

  • Office and documentation 10-15% of time.

  • Light manufacturing up to 80% of time.

  • Travel and heavy manufacturing 5% of time.
