The estimated base salary range for this role is $87,100 to $130,640 per year.

Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors (salary may be adjusted based on geographic location)

The Manufacturing Solutions Analyst is an individual contributor accountable for understanding the business processes supporting Armstrong's business and manufacturing operations, as well as the applications supported by the Manufacturing Applications team, and leveraging that knowledge to provide business solutions. The successful analyst works closely with application teams, Infrastructure Services, and business partners to design and implement innovative and effective solutions for business problems.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain the portfolio of software applications supporting plant operations including warehouse management, manufacturing execution system (MES), digital quality, laboratory information management system (LIMS), and data and analytics.

  • Work with senior technical team members to ensure adherence to application architecture standards, best practices, and AWI business processes.

  • Drive global adoption of manufacturing applications working with users to identify business requirements, functional gaps, and application operational issues.

  • Acts as designer of new, complex business processes within supported areas that have a high impact on business results.

  • Operate as a change agent in delivering long-term solutions that are adaptable to future trends and services.

  • Gathers, documents, and analyzes customer requirements. Work with customers and business partners to ensure accuracy and completeness of requirements gathering efforts.

  • Participates in the development of processes using business knowledge to verify that new processes and systems provide integrated solutions.

  • Develop collaboration strategies to support Armstrong's business goals; leveraging SharePoint and other tools as appropriate.

  • Communicate with internal customers regarding proposed solutions, timelines, issues, etc.

  • Manage projects with small teams (1-3 resources) ensuring on time and quality delivery.

  • Serve as a point of escalation for team member's issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve and ensure timely resolution of issues by focusing on root cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans.

  • Acts in a proactive fashion to develop and lead knowledge transfer efforts with functional and support teams such as Service Desk.

  • Delivers against the operating plan portfolio and personal goals to manage the development, enhancement, and maintenance of manufacturing applications.

  • Maintains current knowledge of existing and emerging capabilities of digital manufacturing technologies through contact with peers and associates, as well appropriate training or other sources.

  • Analyzes, understands, and defines the impact of changing business requirements processes and systems.

  • Designs integration tests, user acceptance tests, and implementation approaches for major functional areas.

  • Collaborates with peers to ensure that all changes are performed in accordance with standard procedures.

  • Adheres to project governance process, and communicates to stakeholders risk, decisions, and action, among other relevant updates.

What will make you successful

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field required, with a concentration in the supported business area.

  • 5+ years of technical analysis or process management

  • Strong analytical skills, applied to both IT applications and business processes design, preferably in manufacturing environment

What makes you stand out

  • Certification in either a process discipline (ITIL, PMI, Six Sigma) or technical discipline (SAP, Data Warehousing).

  • Demonstrable skills in troubleshooting for, communicating with, and effectively supporting non-technical internal customers.

  • Working knowledge of SharePoint.

  • Expertise in .NET including .NET core and building web applications from scratch for enterprise environments.

  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server including SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, and data modeling.

  • Experience in Power BI in enterprise environments.

  • Experience with support of enterprise and/or large multi-site environments.

  • Experience with application of security best practices applied to enterprise application architecture.

  • Demonstrated experience in area of assigned responsibility.

  • Working knowledge of technologies commonly utilized in a manufacturing environment including process control technology, data historian, and human machine interface.

  • Experience supporting 24/7/365 manufacturing plants.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details in business language and relate technical concepts to a business impact.

  • Ability to build relationships and willingness to communicate with customer groups.

  • Strong statistical, analytical and advanced problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate strategy, vision and direction and to embrace and facilitate change.

  • Results-driven, self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Exhibits accountability and accepts responsibility and consequences for work performance and conduct.

  • Sets priorities, overcomes obstacles and opposition and uses organizational skills to get things done in a timely manner.

  • Experience in estimating the financial impact of application and business process alternatives.
