Manufacturing Simulation Engineer

The primary function of the Manufacturing Simulation Engineer will be to collaborate with the Global Operations Engineering team to develop "Digital Twins" of EnerSys production facilities and distribution centers worldwide. They will accomplish this task using FlexSim simulation software to model plant floor processes and functions. The engineer will be tasked with using the following in fulfillment of their duties:

  • Development and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets

  • Basic C++ coding

  • Data acquisition and compilation

  • Communication with on-site plant personnel to identify and verify process steps

  • Reporting simulation results in a clear and organized format

  • Identify areas for improvement/investment based upon simulation results

  • Design optimization scenarios that will maximize plant productivity

  • Explore results of improvement opportunities by modeling in the "Digital Twin"

Additionally, the Manufacturing Simulation Engineer may be asked to assist in other capital project work, plant capacity modeling, new project/process development, and facility layout/design.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field

  • Skilled at use of excel

  • Simulation/modeling software experience

  • Experience with data acquisition and compilation

  • Ability to think critically and logically
