As a Professional Security Guard for Allied Universal you will be responsible for the Security and Safety of our client's property and personnel. As the Allied Universal Security Guard you will know all site-specific policies and procedures, and implement emergency response activities as appropriate, while providing superior customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent

  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner

  • Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which you are applying.

  • As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws

  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills

  • Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites

  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

  • Able to:

  • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat

  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds

  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift

  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time

This announcement is part of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Virtual Job fair. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As a Security Specialist, you will: * Incumbent's assignment encompasses the following NNSA security program elements: Personnel Security, Protective Force, Information Security, Physical Security, Program Management, and Nuclear Material Control & Accountability. The incumbent will perform oversight of the security program pertaining to NPO and M&O operations; and analysis of security trends and indicators based on review of information and documents provided by M&O. * Directs, monitors, and evaluates day-to-day safeguards and security operations concerned with the protection of special nuclear materials, sensitive or classified nformation, facilities, installations, or other sensitive materials, resources, or processes against criminal, terrorist, or hostile intelligence activities. Performs oversight of contractor security program management systems, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with NNSA and DOE directives, requirements, and policies. * Coordinates and/or negotiates with contractors on technical issues and corrective actions necessary for compliance and effectiveness. Conducts inspections, surveillances, and surveys; performs technical analysis, and evaluates security plans, practices, and procedures to evaluate and advise on safeguards and security programs and operations for the protection of national security information and assets. * Participates in or advises on vulnerability assessments (VA) and development of site safeguards and/or security plans (SSP), as well as in the evaluation and testing of the contractor program for carrying out these activities and/or for development of short- and long-range strategies for protection of NNSA sites, programs, and activities. * Serves on interagency working groups, committees, or quality panels to identify and resolve agency wide safeguards and security issues and provide leadership in developing security policy. Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project payband or GS grade level in the Federal service; i.e., NQ-01 pay band or GS-7. Specialized experience for the NQ-02 is defined as: Assisting in the administration of federal government participation in physical security, information security, nuclear material control and accountability, or protective force programs and assisting in the compiling/organizing technical input from multiple sources to assist in the preparation of implementing guidance, reports, and briefing papers for senior officials. Examples of qualifying experience include: * Assisted in the preparation of safeguards and security guidance, reports and publications intended for senior executive level approval. * Assisted in the development and implementation of department level security policies, regulations, directives or technical standards. * Assisted in technical peer reviews and editing of security plans involving facilities with national security interests. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
