Prior quality control experience preferred but not required.

Standing for 8 hour shifts with fast repetitive movement.
Ability to recognize defective material prior to processing in a timely manner.

The primary purpose of this position is to maintain acceptable production levels, minimize down time of trim saws through efficient saw operation and assure all quality checks are completed.
Maintain effective communication with Trim Saw Operators assuring saw is set up correctly including length, hold down and fence position.
Eliminate down time by hitting every lug when feeding and running the saw at acceptable rate that is not so fast that the productivity is reduced.
Proper use of roller carts and buggies to eliminate down time.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and organizational habits, to include the safe clean up of the saw at the end of the shift. This should be accomplished without interfering with production time. Clean up should begin no sooner than 10 minutes before the end of the shift unless coordinated by the cell leader.
Properly follow all Safety related procedures such as the proper use of safety glasses and hearing protection (muffs all day) and Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures.
Report all Safety related issues to the supervisor and all machine breakdowns.
Meet minimum production requirements of averaging 3800 sills cut a shift.
Perform all quality checks to ensure proper material, hand written tag information, size, spec sizes, squareness, appearance, chipping, cracking, boxing quality and stacking quality on all materials.
Back up responsibilities include any other material handling needed depending on the shift worked. This applies to areas and shifts where versatility is critical.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ERRORS: Errors may be serious involving inventory or missed shipments and will become apparent in daily processing. Maintain proper production and reject reporting.
CONTACT WITH OTHER: Regular contact with crewmembers, other employees, lead people and staff members where improper handling may affect results. Clear, concise communications skills are important.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Flow of work and character of duties involve performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions and capable of standing the entire shift. Normal and corrected hearing and vision are necessary with manual coordination some walking, bending, twisting and stooping and lifting of approximately 30 lbs. Must have good hand and eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using hand tools.
WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS: Exposed to normal factory environment (wood dust and aluminum) with no factors or hazards present to a disagreeable extent. Must be able to with stand heat in excess of 95 degrees.
